Condom and lubricant brand Durex has launched a new campaign to tie in with its partnership with this year’s Sydney Mardi Gras.
Durex Love Same SexThe ‘Love Same Sex’ social media campaign aims to highlight and celebrate the years of love and commitment of long-term same-sex relationships in Australia and is a play on the brand’s usual tagline of ‘Love Sex’.

Durex is encouraging Australians in same-sex relationships to celebrate the number of years they have been in a relationship by visiting the Durex Australia Facebook page to pledge their years of commitment. Those who take part also have the chance to win a place on the inaugural Durex float at the Mardi Gras parade on March 1.

The Durex Photo Booth at Mardi Gras Fair Day saw over 3,500 couples pledge there years of commitment, including Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s sister Christine Forster and her partner Virginia Edwards who celebrated seven years together.

The campaign will feature on Durex social media channels and will be promoted via GLBTI sites and publications.

  7. Sex Trafficking Special Report: Women, girls held hostage on streets of Reno

An increasing number of the young women who walk Fourth Street in Reno looking for customers — local men and visitors to the city’s major events — began working as prostitutes while in their teens. They are manipulated by men who control every aspect of their lives, said Reno Police Sgt. Ron Chalmers, one of the leaders of an effort to to stop sex trafficking in Northern Nevada.

Some girls are branded — or tattooed — with their pimp’s name, a number or with the name of their group. For many, the relationship with their pimp is the closest thing to family they’ve ever had. Others are forced to perform while their children are held ransom, usually at gunpoint.

A steady increase of sex trafficking in Northern Nevada has sparked an effort by local, state and federal agencies to try to save the exploited girls and prosecute their pimps. Many of those involved in the problem are seeing a shift in the way these cases are handled, and hope changes in the law will help stop the victimization of the girls.

Melissa Holland, founder of Awaken Inc., a Reno-based nonprofit group that supports victims of sex trafficking, said she worked with 40 exploited women in 2012 and 25 so far in 2013.

Girls as young as 11 are being exploited, said Carla Higginbotham, an assistant U.S. attorney in Reno who specializes in prosecuting juvenile sex trafficking cases. Chalmers said the average age of the who enter “the life” is 14.

“They can be local kids or children who are brought into Nevada from other states for the purpose of selling their bodies,” Higginbotham said. “These children are either coerced or, in many instances, forced through violence or threats to engage in this conduct.”

A bill passed by the Nevada Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Brian Sandoval in June toughened penalties for pimps and created new opportunities for the treatment of victims. The next step will be a change in the public’s perception of the crime as well as the prostitute’s perception of herself and her predicament, experts say.

  8. When Women Don't Put Out

What do you guys think of this?

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

    FOR EXAMPLE:

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, 'I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me.'

I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!'

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear..

'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.'

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?'

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfit s. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.'

We went on to the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... She was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, 'That's fine, honey.' She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, 'I think this is all
Dear, let's go to the cashier.'

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.'

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?'

I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.'

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?'

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either.......but at least that bitch knows I'm smarter than her.

  9. Edmonton brothel good idea: escort

After working as an escort in Edmonton for a year, Michelle said a bordello sounds like a good idea.

Following brothel mogul Denis Hof’s comments Wednesday to bring his bunny ranches to Alberta, Michelle — who asked her last name not be published — said the business model could offer escorts more security.

“It’s all about safety for the girls,” she said. “Customers safety, too — they have a lot of horror stories as well. It keeps everything on the honest.”

Darly Doows, who works with Michelle and other escorts, said creating regulations would protect both sex workers and their clients.

As a self-proclaimed escort-facilitator, Doows said his job is to ensure escorts go to the gym, get routine check ups and link them with potential clients.

“There is a whole bunch of rules a smart escort has,” Doows said, adding he sees the benefits of a brothel in the city.

“Where would you go buy steak if you couldn’t buy it from a butcher shop — off the street?,” he asked.

Former Edmonton police VICE detective JoAnn McCartney said while brothels are physically safer, they are not doing anything to protect a women’s psychological health.

“I think prostitution is violence against women and men and kids,” she said. “I don’t see constructive things in brothels.”

With more than 27 years working with sex workers, McCartney said less women are murdered in a brothel setting versus street prostitution, but the psychological damage is the same.

“Working in a brothel, they are kept under control more and they have no access to social workers, or people who tell them they don’t have to do (it) if they don’t want,” she explained.

With access to support services, including outreach vans, sex workers on the street are constantly reminded there are other options, she said.

  10. Facebook Adds New Gender Options. :p

    AP | by MARTHA MENDOZA

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/13/facebook-gender_n_4782477.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/02/1 ... 82477.html</a>

MENLO PARK, Calif. (AP) — You don't have to be just male or female on Facebook anymore. The social media giant has added a customizable option with about 50 different terms people can use to identify their gender as well as three preferred pronoun choices: him, her or them.

Facebook said the changes, shared with The Associated Press before the launch on Thursday, initially cover the company's 159 million monthly users in the U.S. and are aimed at giving people more choices in how they describe themselves, such as androgynous, bi-gender, intersex, gender fluid or transsexual.

"There's going to be a lot of people for whom this is going to mean nothing, but for the few it does impact, it means the world," said Facebook software engineer Brielle Harrison, who worked on the project and is herself undergoing gender transformation, from male to female. On Thursday, while watchdogging the software for any problems, she said she was also changing her Facebook identity from Female to TransWoman.

"All too often transgender people like myself and other gender nonconforming people are given this binary option, do you want to be male or female? What is your gender? And it's kind of disheartening because none of those let us tell others who we really are," she said. "This really changes that, and for the first time I get to go to the site and specify to all the people I know what my gender is."

Facebook, which has 1.23 billion active monthly users around the world, also allows them to keep their gender identity private and will continue to do so.

The Williams Institute, a think tank based at the University of California, Los Angeles, estimates there are at least 700,000 individuals in the U.S. who identify as transgender, an umbrella term that includes people who live as a gender different from the one assigned to them at birth.

The change at Facebook drew dozens of appreciative postings on the company's diversity website, although there were some pointing out the need to change relationships beyond son and daughter, or asking for sexual orientation options.

The move by Facebook represents a basic and a yet significant form of recognition of the nation's growing transgender rights movement, which has been spurred by veteran activists and young people who identify as transgender at younger ages. The Human Rights Campaign last year found that 10 percent of the 10,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender youths it surveyed used "other" or wrote in their own gender terms.

"Over the past few years, a person's Facebook profile truly has become their online identity, and now Facebook has taken a milestone step to allow countless people to more honestly and accurately represent themselves," HRC President Chad Griffin said. "Facebook's action is one that I hope others heed in supporting individuals' multifaceted identities."

The change to the gender selection option is seen as a major step toward acceptance for people who don't self-identify as male or female, but the high-profile development seemed senseless to those who believe in two genders, no more.

"Of course Facebook is entitled to manage its wildly popular site as it sees fit, but here is the bottom line: It's impossible to deny the biological reality that humanity is divided into two halves - male and female," said Jeff Johnston, an issues analyst for Focus on the Family, an influential national religious organization based in Colorado Springs, Colo. "Those petitioning for the change insist that there are an infinite number of genders, but just saying it doesn't make it so. That said, we have a great deal of compassion for those who reject their biological sex and believe they are the opposite sex."

Masen Davis, executive director of the San Francisco-based Transgender Law Center, said it may be hard for some people to understand the importance of having the ability to select from multiple genders online. But he said many transgender people will be thrilled with the change.

"We applaud Facebook for making it possible for people to be their authentic selves online," he said.

In the past decade, the transgender movement has become much more organized and outspoken, demanding the kind of civil rights and respect already sought by gay activists. During this time, the transgender umbrella has been growing well beyond transsexuals to encompass a wide variety of gender identities.

The move by Facebook came after years of lobbying from users, some who started Facebook pages to petition for the change. Google+ offers male, female and "other" as choices, but transgender advocates said Facebook's many specific options puts the platform well ahead of any other online community. About 1 percent of Google+ users identify as other.

"I love that I can choose Gender Neutral," said Debon Garrigues of Asheville, N.C., who is transitioning from female to male. "I'm going to change it immediately."

Garrigues also appreciated the opportunity to change pronoun preferences.

The idea of expanding gender choices percolated at Facebook for about a year and started to come to fruition during an in-house brainstorming four months ago, project manager Lexi Ross said.

Transgender activist Nori Herras-Castaneda, a spokeswoman for the Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center in San Jose, said her community has been waiting for this to happen for a long time.

"We always talk about how gender is a spectrum," she said. "I can see a lot of people being extremely happy about this."

At this point, Facebook targets advertising according to male or female genders. For those who change to something neutral, ads will be targeted based on the pronoun they select for themselves. Unlike getting engaged or married, changing gender is not registered as a "life event" on the site and won't post on timelines. Therefore, Facebook said advertisers cannot target ads to those who declare themselves transgender or recently changed their gender.

Users also can select "neither" or "other" and separately indicate whether they want to be referred to as he, she or they.

Facebook came up with its range of terms after consulting with leading gay and transgender activists, and the company plans to continue working with them. Facebook started the options in the U.S. and plans to take it global after working with activists abroad to come up with terms appropriate in other countries.

Herras-Castaneda said she did expect some anger.

"Any time the transgender community makes advances, there is backlash, and this is a very big advance, so yes, we'll face some problems, no doubt," she said.

At Facebook, staffers said the expanded options were never questioned, from CEO Mark Zuckerberg on down.

"Really, there was no debate within Facebook about the social implications at all," said Alex Schultz, director of growth. "It was simple: Not allowing people to express something so fundamental is not really cool so we did something. Hopefully a more open and connected world will, by extension, make this a more understanding and tolerant world."

  12. Bishop Backs Soho Prostitutes

Bishop Backs Soho Prostitutes Driven Onto Streets By Brothel Raids

Sex workers turned on to the streets in their underwear during police raids on brothels in Soho have lost their appeal to have the sex houses reopened.

Two prostitutes took on the Metropolitan Police after raids on 18 brothels in central London left them with no premises from which to ply their trade. The women claimed the action by police left them more vulnerable to violence by clients and potential clients than working from an address did.

They claim working in properties in Soho was safe because there was CCTV everywhere and 'maids' were on hand to help regulate who visited the establishments. The women have launched three legal appeals against the closures, with two still waiting to be heard by a court.

Under the law, selling sex for money is not a crime, but police can shut down brothels if they can show the workers are being controlled by a third party.

Ruling in the case, judge Judy Khan said there was evidence at the brothels of mystery figures "controlling" the activities of the women. She cited the existence of a rota and also the practice of leaving rent in a microwave.

Tactics employed by the police during the raids were condemned as "ham-fisted" by a Church of England priest who produced a report on the sex workers' situation. Scotland Yard said the properties were closed down because of links to trafficking and abuse.

Speaking up on behalf of the sex workers to the Bishop of London, Reverend Simon Buckley wrote: "The girls who continue to work in the unclosed flats say that they would not feel confident in turning to the police if they were a victim of crime," he wrote.

"Those who previously worked in the relative safety of the flats, and until 18 months ago had a good rapport with the police, are now forced to explore other means of supporting themselves. I am told this is most likely by working on streets outside Soho where they are far more vulnerable to abuse, attack and rape."

  14. Sex worker on why she would work in mega-brothel

Sex worker on why she would work in mega-brothel

Some European countries are legalising prostitution with the most liberal laws being in Germany. Europe's biggest brothel - dubbed a mega-brothel - is in Stuttgart.

However, a report by MPs is expected to say buying sex should be against the law in England and Wales.

Laura Lee, a sex worker and spokesperson for the International Union of Sex Workers, told Newsnight why that would be a bad idea.

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26284103" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-26284103</a>

  15. China: Double Standards on Prostitution

Double standards on prostitution enrages blogosphere

Prostitution is illegal in China. Officially, at least. Nonetheless, the world's oldest trade takes place in every part of the country. A recent TV report and a large-scale raid on a brothel have sparked a heated debate.

Journalists working for the Chinese state broadcaster CCTV entered a number of brothels with hidden cameras in the "sex metropolis" of Dongguan. The report, aired in mid-February, portrays and criticizes the "moral decay" of the southern Chinese city. It also slams the local police, accusing them of being "unwilling to act." The police's reaction was swift. Some 7,000 police officers conducted a massive raid in the city resulting in the arrest of 67 people.

    Harsh punishment

Prostitution is illegal in China. It is, however, ubiquitous. Karaoke bars, high-end hotels and spas can be found catering to protagonists in the sex trade. While there are no official statistics, it is estimated that between four and six million sex workers are currently operating in China.

Thousands of police officers have raided karaoke bars, nightclubs, hotels and saunas in 16 Chinese cities over recent days, detaining more than 1,000 suspects in the latest attempt to curb the country's illegal but booming sex industry. More busts are likely now that the Chinas Ministry of Public Security ordered a nationwide crackdown on prostitution, gambling and drugs. Some experts doubt the arrests will solve the problem given the popularity of the service in China. Others say the biggest reason that prostitution remains endemic to China is that police and authorities in cities take bribes to overlook the crime, and so the only thing to do is no longer treat it as a crime. Li Yinhe, a sociologist at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, says the government must reconsider its laws and approach. Legalizing the industry could reduce corruption and ensure health checks and education of sex workers, who could be offered training for other work, she told Caixin Media. Prostitution is available everywhere in China, from street-side barbershops to high-end hotels. Many of the arrests in the latest sweep are taking place in Dongguan, a southern manufacturing hub long notorious as China's sex capital.

The sex business has a long tradition in the Asian nation. Businessmen invite potential partners to karaoke bars - with female "entertainment" - in the hopes of closing a deal. State employees also accept paid sex as a "courtesy." Last summer, five judges were caught with prostitutes in Shanghai and subsequently suspended from work. However, members of the Communist party often get off scott-free.

Yet there is high risk for the prostitutes themselves. Aside from the risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS, they must also beware of the police. Prostitutes who get caught can face detention at labor camps, where, contrary to other detainees, they are expected to pay for their stay, according to the New York-based rights organization "Asia Catalyst."

    Debate over prostitution

The CCTV report has sparked a debate about prostitution in China. "The state broadcaster has denounced prostitution as moral decay," criticized women's rights activist Ai Xiaoming. "But many Chinese officials are on the receiving end. And they even spend public money on it. Everyone knows that."

Prostitution, according to Ai, is less a problem of sexual morals, and more a question of the abuse of power and corruption. Chinese social media sites are abuzz with discussions about the CCTV report. "Drop your pants and take the whores, then do 'em up and take 'em in," users mock police officials, many of whom are believed to be devout customers of the prostitutes.

Many people claim the state is simply using the TV report to harangue viewers. Others suspect an inner-party power struggle behind the program as a number of local party members were suspended right after the show was broadcast.

    Legalize it?

Slowly but surely, support for the legalization of prostitution is growing.

"If it is legal to sell a product you make by using your hands or your head, then why should it be illegal to sell sex?," sex researcher Li Yinhe asks on the Chinese news site iFeng.

"While fully legalizing it could be problematic - for example, it could trigger a wave of protest, especially from people who live in areas where there is a lot of prostitution - the first step should be decriminalization," the researcher said.

Women's rights advocate Ai said China needed to find its own approach to the problem. Sweden, for example, punishes customers but not the prostitutes, but this would not be the solution for China, she said, adding that it would be best if everyone got together to find a solution, even the sex workers themselves. Raids like the one in Dongguang would then no longer be necessary, she explained.

It seems, however, the government is taking a different approach. On Monday, February 17, the Ministry of Public Security announced on its website that it would intensify its crackdown on prostitution, gambling and drugs throughout the country.

  16. Kardashian Couple Get In Trouble

Kardashian couple gets in trouble with Canadian broadcast watchdog for sex toy scene -
Episode featured creative use of carrot and doughnut, cucumber and gummy ring

    by Marc Weisblott

The after-school airing of a Keeping Up With the Kardashians episode in which Kourtney Kardashian discussed her sex life with boyfriend Scott Disick has led to a censure of the Canadian version of the E! network by the organization dedicated to keeping broadcasters in check.

Specifically, the complaint concerned the couple’s preoccupation with the prospect of engaging in anal intercourse.

“The episode included numerous conversations about the issue amongst the various personalities on the show,” described the decision from the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council, issued on Thursday in response to a complaint about a 4 p.m. airing of the show on Oct. 23, 2013.

“In almost all cases, they used the euphemism ‘back door’ and ‘back-dooring it’ to refer to the act. In one scene, Kourtney used a carrot and chocolate donut to simulate the act, following which Scott used a cucumber and a candy gummy ring.

“In another scene, Kourtney read a text message that she received from Scott, ‘Knock, knock. Who’s there? It’s my penis knocking on your back door.’ Later in the program, Kourtney suggested to Scott that she would let him perform anal sex on her if he let her do it to him first with a dildo.

“Scott was clearly very uncomfortable with the idea, so, with the goal of making him even more squeamish, Kourtney explained and simulated with her fist what she planned to do to him.”

The decision by the CBSC, a watchdog group to which all major Canadian broadcasters belong in the effort to deal with complaints about programming content, proceeded to provide a transcript of the intellectual exchange between the couple — followed by a description of a subsequent shot in which Kourtney straps on a purple dildo “although the phallus itself was blurred throughout the scene.”

Kourtney then chased her boyfriend with the apparatus throughout the house until he stopped pursuing the issue.

“I’m definitely going to hold on to this little toy because if Scott ever forgets, I’m whipping that thing out and then I’ll shove it right in there,” said the oldest of the three main sister stars of the reality show.

The initial complaint to E!, which is owned in Canada by Bell Media, pointed to the fact that these scenes and dialogue were not appropriate for a time in which children are likely to be surfing around for something to watch.

But the broadcaster claimed that, since everything was expressed in the form of euphemisms, there was no justification for alarm, although it admitted that a parental advisory should have aired.

As a result of the complainant being unsatisfied with the E! response, the ruling from the CBSC did not disagree with the channel’s perspective on the content of the show. But its Code of Ethics does require an advisory when a show that touches on these topics is broadcast before 9 p.m. — even one that purports to depict reality.

A vague announcement about the breach will be aired by E! twice in the coming week and then everyone can get on with their lives.

  17. New Book on Founding Father Sex:

New Book on Founding Father Sex: Washington Accused of Being Gay and Using ‘Wooden Spikes’ for…

Who wants to talk about the sexual habits of the Founding Fathers?! Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Well, you’re the one who clicked, so you may as well read on. There is a lovely new book titled Sex and the Founding Fathers that takes on the subject in a surprisingly historical and straight-laced manner. So no bow-chicka-wow-wows or steamy sex scenes like this is one of those erotic novels housewives love reading or something.

The Daily Beast’s Eric Herschthal has a good summation of the highlights (I use that term loosely) in the book, which mainly looks at how each generation fixates on the sexual identities of the Founding Fathers and what that says about our social values.

Aside from the infamous Thomas Jefferson affair and Benjamin Franklin‘s predilection for ladies of the night, there were rumors about other Founders. For example, George Washington (and a few other Founders) were Freemasons, and there were papers that attacked Masons as “engaging in anal penetration with wooden spikes used in ship building.”

There’s also some exploration of gay rumors about Alexander Hamilton and whether or not he could be called the nation’s “gay Founding Father” because of his supposedly intimate relationship with another man, not to mention how in more recent decades, John Adams‘ relationship with his wife has been viewed in a more “power couple” sort of manner.

Meanwhile, Franklin’s “solid marriage” has largely been forgotten about in descriptions as a “foxy grandpa” having “sexual appetites of gargantuan proportions.” All in all, we tend to romanticize our Founders, just relatively differently on the “sex” part.

Why this topic? Well, Foster quotes Christopher Hitchens to explain why: “It’s a book about our Founding Fathers as if they had penises.”

  18. "Ive Been A Sex Worker For 20 yrs & I Love It!"

"I've been a sex worker for 20 years - and I love it": Woman in call to legalise 'mega brothels'

Laura Lee, a spokesperson for the International Union of Sex Workers, claims that "sex is none of the state's business"

A sex worker wants the government to consider making paying for sex in a 'mega brothel' legal.

Laura Lee, who has worked in the industry for 20 years, believes Britain should follow the example set in Europe.

Some countries are making it lawful to pay for sex and Germany has some of the most liberal laws.

In Saarbrucken, a £4.9m brothel boasting 90 prostitutes is due to open because of the countries lack of control over the illicit sex trade.

The move comes as a host of European countries are reviewing the law's attitude towards prostitution.

A parliamentary inquiry panel is expected to announce buying sex should be against the law in England and Wales, according to the BBC.

Speaking to Newsnight, Ms Lee, a spokesperson for the International Union of Sex Workers, said that would not be a good idea.

She said: "I've been a sex worker for 20 years. I love my job, I truly do.

"And I don't think I'm quite different from the vast majority in saying that.

"The current proposals that are on the table really concern me because it seems to me that it will create a police state.

"Because when consenting adults are having sex that is none of the state's business.

"Would I be happy to work in a mega-brothel? Yes I would.

"I'm not saying the sex industry is for everybody necessarily, I'm saying that it has been my choice and I have loved what I do.

"The same can be said of many of my colleagues.

"My big concern with this current push that's going on is that the voices of sex workers have not been heard, we have not been consulted."

Buying and selling sex is technically legal across the UK

But soliciting for sex in a public place, kerb crawling and owning a brothel are criminal offences.

Paying for sex laws are being reviewed in Finland, the Republic of Ireland, Romania, France, Belgium, Northern Ireland and Denmark.

While the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and Germany have passed laws making sex bought in a brothel legal.

It is against the law in Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

The report from MPs is expected to be published next month.

  19. Soho Sex Worker Lose Closure Order

Soho sex workers lose closure order case as court dismisses bid to reopen ‘walk-up’ brothels
    Published: 21 February, 2014
    by WILLIAM McLENNAN

ATTEMPTS to reopen two “walk-up brothels” in Soho have been dismissed by a court this week – despite claims it would force women to work on the street.

Two sex workers had taken the Metropolitan Police Service to court in an appeal against a closure order that was granted for a flat in Lisle Street following police raids in December.

But a judgment handed down at Isleworth Crown Court on Monday dismissed the appeal and said: “we have concluded that there is evidence from which we can infer that an individual or individuals were ‘controlling’ prostitution at the addresses.”

Last week two women told the court that they worked there of their own free will.

The court heard that the women organised their own working patterns, decided how much to charge customers and made hand-drawn signs advertising the flats.

One woman, originally from Kosovo, said: “I can choose the customer. It’s nothing to do with anybody else. I’m the boss.”

She told the court that the flat, where she has worked for seven years, provided her with a safe place to work. She said: “I tried to look for another flat. It’s difficult to find. There are not any jobs. I never work on the street because it’s too hard to work.

“We need to open this flat because it’s safe. To work in the street is too difficult.”

The appeal tribunal, led by Recorder Judy Khan, agreed with the police’s submission that certain aspects of the way the flats were run showed that an unknown individual was breaking section 53 of the Sexual Offences Act which makes an offence of “controlling prostitution for gain”.

They cited four pieces of evidence that led to their conclusion:

    • despite being “satisfied that the women were not forced or intimidated into working from the Lisle Street premises” they said “an individual or individuals held out the lure of financial gain to them and to others who worked there”;

    • they said the presence of signs that advertised both flats was “significant”;

    • they said rent was paid in a “bizarre way”, such as being left in a microwave, which “gave rise to the inference that the person or persons controlling the activity wanted to remain remote or anonymous”; and

    • they said “a system of shifts was in operation” which inferred an individual was controlling the women.

The judgment concluded: “On the balance of probabilities the making of a closure order is necessary to prevent the premises being used for activities related to one or more of specified prostitution offences.”

The order was applied for in December after police raided scores of premises across Soho in an attempt to stifle the trade of stolen goods, which they believe fuels the crack cocaine market.

Police provided no evidence of handling stolen goods in relation to the closure orders.

Representing the two sex workers Juan Lopez questioned the connection and last week told the court: “The link that the police purport to make – on no evidence – doesn’t lend itself to any evidential value whatsoever.”

He added: “You have to query why the police want to target these premises.”

  20. Researchers Develop Electrical Condom

Researchers develop electrical condom that increases sensations felt during sex

New York: Not happy at wearing those pleasure killer condoms? No worries. Here comes a 21st century electrical condom that would enhance the experience like never before!

Two researchers from Georgia Tech's Digital Media Program have invented a device that sends short electric impulses along the underside of the condom.

"This increases the sensations felt during sex and opens up the technology to be used with other wearable devices and sensors," explained PhD students Firaz Peer and Andrew Quitmeyer from Atlanta-based Georgia Institute of Technology.

Called Electric Eel, the digital prototype was made using a soft 'stimulating sleeve' fitted with conductive arrays of electrodes.
The device is powered by a programmable Lilypad microcontroller, which can send electrical impulses to small electrodes lining the inside of the sleeve.

"This type of device could be hooked up to numerous controllers, directed in person or using existing Internet software," said the designers.

In terms of safety, the amount of electricity applied is very small.

  21. Politicians: Sin in sex, not in traffic

    Traffic is the new sex.

Stick with me. U.S. Sen. David Vitter, who recently announced that he is running for governor of Louisiana in 2015, is ahead in a recent poll. You may recall Vitter's apology in 2007 after his phone number surfaced during an investigation of the prostitution ring run by the notorious "D.C. Madam," Deborah Jeane Palfrey, who later committed suicide. The details of his dalliances involved infant wear. He said he committed "a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible."

His lead in the polls is in keeping with other comebacks by officials caught in sexual scandals. After his own prostitution scandal, former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer got a television show and ran a creditable race for New York City comptroller.

Former South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford survived trying to cover up his infidelity with a tall tale about hiking the Appalachian Trail and returned to Congress. President Bill Clinton, who was impeached for his transgressions, left office with a 68 percent approval rating, and his wife is the leading candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Compare that with the fate of politicians involved in traffic scandals. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is the subject of multiple investigations for the epic gridlock on the George Washington Bridge. His non-best friend from high school, David Wildstein, whom he appointed to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, is singing like a bird. Kentucky U.S. Sen. Rand Paul is pursuing questions about how federal funds for Superstorm Sandy were spent, and several mayors are anxious to tell him. Even Christie's idol, Bruce Springsteen, mocked him on late-night television. Just 35 percent of Americans see the governor favorably, down from 52 percent in a Gallup poll in June. He's gone from a 32 point net positive rating last summer to a 5 point net negative now. Before Bridgegate, he topped many of the polls about potential Republican presidential candidates. A Washington Post/ABC poll puts him in third place now, with the support of just 13 percent of Republicans, behind U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.

Republican Gov. Nathan Deal of Georgia also has seen voters tap the brakes over his traffic record. Deal was a shoo-in for re-election in his Republican-leaning state until "Snowjam '14" (it's never good for a catastrophe to get a name) created a crushing traffic jam on the interstate. Deal was missing in action as the snow began to pile up, and he initially blamed poor weather forecasting for the failure to clear roads or stagger closings so that everyone wasn't hitting the freeway at the same time.

The crisis — a baby was born on the interstate, people were trapped overnight in their cars while their children slept at school — attracted national attention. On NBC, weatherman Al Roker scolded Deal for calling the storm a surprise when all he needed to do was turn on the TV to find out it was headed his way. Late-night host Jay Leno joked, "Drivers were stranded, traffic was at a standstill for 12 hours, and everyone was asking the same question: 'What did we do to piss off Chris Christie?'"

Now it's the people of Georgia who are ticked off at Deal, who was lunching with the mayor of Atlanta when both should have been glued to The Weather Channel. A survey showed 1 out of 3 people blamed Deal, not Mother Nature, for the traffic nightmare. In a statewide poll, 57 percent of Republicans rated Deal poor to fair.

According to Public Policy Polling, while Deal still holds a lead over his likely opponents who haven't yet begun to advertise, including state Sen. Jason Carter (yes, grandson of), only 36 percent of voters approve of Deal and 41 percent disapprove, a terrible place for an incumbent to be.

He would have been better off having lunch with a hooker. Just ask Sen. Vitter.

  22. Elite Sex Club Comes To Belfast

Elite sex club 'Killing Kittens' comes to Belfast promising 'organised orgies' and swingers parties

Killing Kittens organiser Emma Sayle with pal Kate Middleton

    BY SARA GIRVIN – 24 FEBRUARY 2014

It’s the exclusive sex club for the rich, famous and beautiful — and it’s coming to Belfast.

The kinky Killing Kittens club is run by Emma Sayle, a blue-blooded pal of Kate Middleton, who has revealed she is bringing her notorious “organised orgies” to Northern Ireland later this year.

Emma claims there are more than 3,000 Killing Kittens members throughout the north and south of Ireland already and says the sole aim of her company is “the pursuit of female pleasure”.

“We are planning on doing regular swingers parties, launching in April in Dublin and Belfast,” she said.

“We have the Dublin-based team in place, so it’s all systems go.”

A venue for the Belfast parties has not yet been revealed.

Killing Kittens parties are billed as organised orgies for the young, wealthy and beautiful.

Only couples and single women aged 18 to 45 are allowed to attend, and guests at the champagne-fuelled events must wear masks.

All attendees are strenuously vetted and must provide photographs to make sure their looks are up to scratch.

Celebrity members have included Big Brother and Apprentice star Luisa Zissman, who revealed that she once took part in a 30-strong orgy at a Killing Kittens party.

Describing the sex parties which she attended with her ex-husband, Luisa said: “A friend who was into threesomes with her partner told me about them and said I should sign up to a club called Killing Kittens.

“If you walk around the party you find people in rooms having sex.

“Sometimes it’s couples, sometimes it’s girls, sometimes eight, nine, ten people.”

The outrageous celeb, who missed out on a £250,000 investment from Sir Alan Sugar to Derry’s own Dr Leah Totton, revealed Killing Kittens’ upmarket soirees are full of footballers, actors and politicians.

But she said that the parties were about women feeling sexually liberated rather than anything seedy.

“Everyone has sexual fantasies,” she said. “Most of the time they are not fulfilled and the swinging scene allows people to fulfil those fantasies under their own guidelines within control. It is not about love and people who don’t go don’t understand that. It’s just about fantasy and sex.”

    Killing Kittens rules:

    1. Girls make the rules and only girls can break the rules

    2. No means no

    3. Men cannot approach women

    4. Members only

    5. Strictly no mobile phones or cameras at the parties

Furious customer sends complaint to Trading Standards after being turned down by prostitute at brothel

    - Client complained he had travelled some distance only to be turned away
-Harrow Council considered his written submission but could not help
    - 'This is a new one on us. The trading standards manual doesn't cover it

A scorned customer left embarrassed after a prostitute refused to have sex with him has complained to trading standards about her brothel.

Harrow Council has admitted it was shocked when they were asked by the client to punish the sex worker and her employer because of his 'wasted trip'.

The unnamed man told a trading standards officer that he had travelled some distance from a neighbouring London borough to pay for sex and prostitutes should not act like that.

But town hall officials left him further disappointed because current regulations did not cover his complaint.

'The gentleman seemed very aggrieved. He told us he believed he had been refused and was angry about the fact,' a council source said.

'He insisted that prostitutes should not be able to behave like that.

Call for action: Trading Standards in Harrow have admitted a man has complained about a brothel (file picture) because a prostitute refused to have sex with him

'The man said he had travelled from a neighbouring borough in North London, so was obviously a bit upset by his wasted trip.
'He filled in the form pretty seriously and gave us his contact details.'

Although the complainant was left unsatisfied by the council's response, the brothel has since been shut down.

Harrow Council leader Susan Hall, said: 'Prostitution may be the oldest profession in the world, but a complaint of this sort is a new one on us. The trading standards manual doesn't really cover it.

'I would like the gentleman involved to visit Harrow again, but perhaps this time he could enjoy some of our more wholesome pursuits - like our wonderful open parks, leisure centres and historic churches.'

I feel bad in away for him to travel from far away, but I wonder what he did for the girl to refuse. Good thing he is not the one writing the manual or making the calls on what the ladies should or not do.

    Sex With A Porn-Wired Man

    Sex, porn, and intimacy
Published on March 5, 2014 by Mark Banschick, M.D. in The Intelligent Divorce

Does your boyfriend or husband watch too much porn?
Is it affecting your sex life?

    Could be…

Hollywood’s answer to this everyday problem is Don Jon (2013) starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Even Scarlett Johansson has to compete with Gordon-Levitt’s porn throbs. It’s so bizarre it's funny.

Too many guys are being taught about intimacy from actors in porn videos. And, in therapy, I find more women troubled by the strange habits of their lovers. We’re a wired nation. Should we be surprised that it’s spreading to the bedroom?''

    The Porn-Wired Man:

Porn is not going away and for many its a harmless distraction. (We will leave the political critique of the porn industry aside for this article.) Like PT author David Levy reports: “Porn can affect people, but it does not take them over or override their values.“ Without doubt, many men view pornography and have perfectly satisfying relations their partners.

Yet, for others, sex with a porn-wired man can be less enjoyable. According to Robert Weiss, another PT author and an expert on sex addictions: “Anecdotal evidence has long suggested that a man’s porn use can adversely affect the self-esteem of his girlfriend or wife (or male partner if he is gay), and research is now backing this up.”

Weiss is not alone in this claim.

Working with teens and adults, I’ve observed more than a few women complaining about porn inspired sex rather than intimacy inspired sex. They sense that they’re being judged for having less than ideal bodies, among other things. Who, after all, can compete with an imaginary beauty that provides for every need?

Complaint One: These women claim there’s less caressing, much like in porn videos. They sense a script’s been written and they need to comply. While many women look forward to intimacy as part and parcel of their sex life, porn promotes the value of stimulation, and not closeness. Some women want more. Since when has pornography been about intimacy?

Complaint Two: Porn-wired men can experience sexuality in a fetishistic manner. You’re not excited about a woman instead you’re excited about the image of an idealized, random woman. While I am not for censorship, it’s fair to say that porn promotes the image of carefree, non obligatory, casual excitement. She’s available on command and gone just as quickly. Her body provides a video based cyber excitement that the ordinary attractive woman fails to meet.

Complaint Three: It’s one thing if both members of the couple are into porn. In that case it can be part of the play of sex. But, when one partner is preoccupied with porn, it introduces a triangle into the relationship. To quote one woman, I understand that it is okay for a wife to arouse her husband, but I have a hard time differentiating from the arousal he would get from viewing porn, to the arousal he gets from me.

    Bring On That Oxytocin:

Oxytocin is a powerful hormone secreted by both men and women. It is often labeled as the love hormone, because it helps us to bond with one another. Interestingly, Oxytocin is secreted in its highest doses when women breast feed. A mother with HER newborn child is about as intimate as human beings can get.

Oxytocin promotes that feeling of warm attachment to another person. Add love, endorphins, which mimic narcotics and the experience of orgasm, and you have the great bonding experience that sexuality can truly be.

Oxytocin is naturally secreted by women during sex; and less so for men. Perhaps that’s one reason why women yearn for closeness as much as they like sex. The average woman finds touching, hugging, and foreplay as important as intercourse. A man who can gaze into a woman’s eyes, caress her face and hold her just so, can make sex so very pleasurable.

Bonding is the essence of intimacy.

What kind of bond do actors create in a porn video? The closest you may get is a film on bondage? And, where’s the Oxytocin rush in that?

    The Value of a Kiss:

Kissing is an intimate act, and most couples enjoy it tremendously. It’s tender. It’s close. And, it’s enveloping. For many, kissing and caressing are part of the intimacy of sex, of the knowing your partner, her body, his essence, before serious coitus.

As such, most prostitutes refrain from kissing. It’s too vulnerable…too intimate. And, porn downgrades kissing as well. The porn-wired man is trained to gratify by stimulation, not let go into intimacy. Kissing requires a capacity to endure some closeness, some tenderness. For those men and women who avoid kissing, something’s amiss.

Porn is stimulation without connection. Masturbation encodes powerful memories involving the porn image, imagination, hormones and the power of the addictive dopamine rush. Who or what is the porn-wired man connected to?

Whatever its source, for some of these guys, kissing is too slow and too intimate. They might rather rush to the sexual positions of their fantasies then focus on connecting. This behavior can eventually result in alienating their partner for good.

    Your Porn-Wired Man:

If you are in a relationship with a guy preoccupied with porn, you may be finding a loss of intimacy. For some, therapy can serve to help him explore the issues that take him away from you. Indeed, porn may be an outlet for a depressed or anxious person who needs some help. It is not necessarily a game changer.

Occasionally, pornography is a true addiction, like drugs or gambling. Sex addicts can be treated, and twelve step programs are incredibly useful. If you decide to stick it out with him, you’ll have to deal with feelings of betrayal and self questioning. Success can be had, but it won’t come easily.

If this is your lot, it will be a tough go. If you have something special with him, plan to endure some hurt, but it may be worth it. If you have had enough, few will blame you.

    Love and Sex:

Without doubt, it’s important to express what you want in bed. Sex is an exciting and intimate playing field when you’re both on the same team. If one partner isn’t happy with the game plan, then it should be vocalized immediately. Remember, it always takes two to tango.

If there’s to be wired-sex, let it be between the two of you. There are fireworks galore in good sex; neurons firing, mirroring, satisfaction, the glow of Oxytocin, endorphins, fantastic memories, dopamine rushes, orgasm and great longing.

In Don Jon, Gordon-Levitt gets there. I wish the same for both of you.

  32. OK Atty Arrested for Smuggling Sex Toys

Oklahoma attorney arrested for smuggling sex toys to inmate in jail

OKLAHOMA CITY – An Oklahoma attorney was put behind bars and is now facing six charges after allegedly smuggling contraband inside the Oklahoma County Jail.

According to the arrest affidavit, 70-year-old Frank Kirk and a female inmate repeatedly engaged in sexual acts inside the detention center.

Those acts happened during attorney/client meetings inside the jail.

Sheriff John Whetsel, with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, says the woman believed Kirk was her attorney.
According to court records, that was not the case.

Whetsel said, “Frank Kirk is the one that decided not to follow the rules.”

Frank Kirk, an attorney, is now defending himself after the sheriff says he smuggled a cell phone, personal lubricant, baby wipes and a vibrating ring into the county jail for use during a meeting with the so-called client.

Whetsel said, “During their initial meeting, Kirk told the victim that since she didn’t have the cash to pay for his services, she could make it up by performing sexual acts instead.”

The sheriff says the relationship went on inside the jail for three months.

During that time, the woman performed sexual acts in front of and with Kirk.
The whole time she believed he was her attorney.

Whetsel said, “He was never her attorney. He had her believing he was her attorney.”

It was only after a public defender told the inmate about the progress of her case that she realized what had actually happened.
She reported it to deputies, who were able to listen in on a recent visit.

Whetsel said, “There was a pre-arranged signal and as soon as she used that, the deputies made the arrest.”
The sheriff says those attorney/client meetings are now being reviewed.

He said, “We know attorney visits are a part of the criminal justice process. However, we are working to see if there are ways to strengthen the attorney rules at the jail and still allow them access to their clients.”

Meanwhile, we tried to track Kirk down at his office and his home.

He was not there and those who were refused to talk about what’s happened.
The sheriff says they are also working to file a complaint against Kirk with the Oklahoma Bar Association.

  34. Sex In The Olympic Village

    Sex in the Olympic village

Three thousand of the most talented athletes on this planet at the end of a four year qualifying grind, and what you get is a “sex fest,” a term coined by U.S. Soccer Women’s National team goalie Hope Solo after the 2010 Summer Olympics in London. American target shooter Josh Lakatos, who competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, spoke at length about what he had seen during his stay in the Olympic Village in a interview with ESPN.

“I’ve never witnessed so much debauchery in my entire life,” Lakatos said. “The entire women’s 4×100 relay team of some Scandinavian-looking country walks out of the house, followed by boys from our side.

Following the 2000 Olympics, Olympic officials placed a standing order for 100,000 condoms per Olympics, after 70,000 was not enough.

In an interview with ESPN, Solo was by far the most forthcoming with details.

“I’ve seen people having sex right out in the open,” Solo said. “On the grass, between buildings, people are getting down and dirty.”

Athletes have only recently become open on this issue, with past Olympians responding to questions from reporters with variations of “What happens in the Olympic Village, stays in the Olympic Village.”

In an article for the Times of London, former Olympian Matthew Syed claimed sex was quite commonplace at the Olympics.
“Olympic athletes have to display an unnatural … level of self-discipline in the build-up to big competitions. How else is this going to manifest itself than with a volcanic release of pent-up hedonism?” Syed said.
And according to psychologist Judy Kuriansky, who has attended multiple Olympics, sex in the Olympic village makes sense from a psychological standpoint.

“You are psychologically turned to an earlier sense of camp or college. They sleep in these little bunks in suites with common areas. It lends itself to that kind of lifestyle,” Kuriansky said in an interview with ABC. “There is a sense that they are special. They are special”

Not everyone agrees with what the majority of the media says about the Olympic Village. Some athletes, such as cyclist Jill Kintner, feel the media does a disservice to the athletes who compete.

“There are thousands of athletes who compete at the Olympics,” Kintner said in an interview with ABC. Everyone is there to put their best foot forward, but not everyone is going to medal and be super busy. Once the job is done, there are parties and celebrations all over the city hosted by sponsors or whoever to unwind a bit. The stress and pressure of the Olympics is unparalleled, so I think it’s normal to want to have some fun after the job is done.”
Senior Lily Zhang, who attended the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, was able to share first hand accounts of life in the village.

“There were definitely parties at the olympics, and since alcohol is technically not allowed inside the olympic village, a lot of athletes went into the city for parties or the U.S.A. House, which was always very lively,” Zhang said.

At the same time, Zhang says it might not be what it’s built up to be in the media.
“As for sex, I personally don’t think it’s as crazy as the press blows it up,” Zhang said. It’s not like there are athletes just doing it in public or anything. It’s pretty private for the most part.

However, Zhang confirmed that the press isn’t simply making everything up.

“They do provide condoms and everything and another athlete told me they ran out when he went to go get some,” Zhang said.

A group of prostitutes from the coastal city of Sousse protested in front of the National Constituent Assembly building Tuesday, demanding that their officially-sanctioned brothel be reopened after over a year of inactivity.

“We are forced to do this. We have no other alternative. Life is getting harder in Tunisia. We have families to feed and we can’t find work anywhere else,” one of the women, who refused to be named, told Tunisia Live.

The brothel has been closed for “almost a year and four months,” another of the women told radio station Mosaique FM. “Police officers shut us down on the pretext of complaints from neighbors.”

Prostitution is legal in Tunisia. Prostitutes in state-sanctioned brothels are official Ministry of Interior employees.

The prostitutes demand the reopening of the brothel at Sousse after being closed for more than a year.

“The police forces of Sousse are waiting for permission from the Ministry of Interior, they must allow us to get back to work,” one of the women told Tunisia Live.

NCA Vice President Mehrezia Laabidi of the Ennahdha party met today with three female employees from the Sousse brothel.

Laabidi promised the women that she “will treat their problem with great care.”

“I am not here to judge these women on a moral basis, no Tunisian woman should suffer this way,” she said.

“As a woman, she adopted our problems and promised us solutions,” the same protester said.

“We have no other alternatives. We have families to feed, children to raise, and rent to pay.”
