These are my babies! ❤️

 

These are my babies. Naja is the orange tabby boy and Shikaree is the black and white girl.

Sadly, Naja died in July. He contracted oral cancer which disabled his tongue, so I had to have him euthanized. I still cry over it. He will always be my cat. He was so sweet and so fluffy and had the most adorable meow.

Ha ha! How adorable! I had a female cat "Kiara" that gained a lot of weight and she was extremely self conscious and did NOT ever like her weight mentioned. She was such a typical woman..... 100%...

 

Awww...I am so sorry for your loss. He's a beauty, that's for sure!

Butch and his sister Rosie when they were just kittens. These two were like flying squirrels! They had SO much fun and kept me & my ailing brother company. My brother named Butch and I named Rosie. Butch is on the right and he is the sole survivor of all three cats I had at once.

I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Naja. Orange tabbies are such great personalities and I know you must miss him terribly. May his time on earth with you be cherished forever.❤️

OK, big reveal! This is my potato baby named Myla who I rescued during the pandemic after her breeder threw her out for not being able to produce profitable puppies. I loooove my girl.

 

Thanks. Most days I feel okay but today I'm having a tough day. Last night I was haunted by what I call "reverse nightmares" in which a really happy thing happens in a dream and then you wake up to the cold hard reality and realization that it was not real. Last night I dreamed that Naja somehow came back to me in perfect health.

In July of 2022 he ran away and was missing for 46 hours. That was difficult but I found him in the early morning hours. When he got sick in July of 2023 I thought at first it would become something I could look back on next year and say "Naja always has a tough start to July, I wonder what will happen this year". But then the doctor told me the black discharge from his mouth and necrotic tissue on his tongue were cancerous and there was nothing they could do. A cat without a tongue cannot eat, drink, or clean himself. I guess I'm glad that he was in relatively good health (not starving or dehydrated) and not a lot of pain when I took him to be euthanized.

I had him cremated. His ashes are in a nice wooden urn along with a clipping of his fur along with some fur from his sister Shikaree. That way, part of them is still together forever.
