so getting a little more personal in this post , Growing up I came from a military family. In Highschool, I trained with the USNCC and attended boot camp in the cadet program. When I turned 18, I was going to join the Navy. However my family needed me at home and missed out on the experience. Serving ones country is such an amazing honorable thing and Im fascinated about the lives war veterans have lived. Starting now every Monday I’ll be doing military specials for everyone who comes in who is currently serving or has served in the military and will be giving special discounts for those patrons. As for me, 24 years in the Army National Guard with a trip to the sandbox was enough for me.

 

He was army national guard, both grandpas in navy tho! <3

 

And right! I remember singing anchors away in choir! hehe

 

He was a Nasty Girl like me? What a small world.

 

That's pretty cool. I almost joined the navy out of high school. My mom's friend's son was a navy recruiter and my mom was always pressuring me to join. I really didn't want to do it but for my mom's sake I gave it a chance. Aced the asvab test and physical and was staying at fort Hamilton for a few days. Really wasnt for me so I respectfully declined the offer to join the navy

Omg that’s amazing!! And yes it’s a big commitment and decision at that age fresh out of Hs. It’s like you want to do it but are so comfortable with home and the way things are at that time. Gosh would have been an adventure tho! Can’t help but think back

This is awesome Abigail. I served in the Marine Corps and had a great time. Traveled to Okinawa, Philippines and Hong Kong over my four years. I love when companies and people celebrate military service. I extend my thanks to your family's service in the Navy!

Abigail, my dad served during the Korean War. He almost got drafted to Vietnam. By that my brother, sister and I were born. I'm the oldest sibling.

 

Sounds like I need to make a trip to the ranch one of these Mondays
