I actually paid $70 ($77 including tax). The room was a King Jr. Suite. Not sure if the $60 deal is just for the smaller rooms based on availability but the place was crazy busy with bowlers and folders.

Unsure1973, there is currently a 10% Carson City hotel tax rate, so $66 total for a $60 room is correct, no fraud involved. Tbnd95678, the $70 room rate is a BunnyRanch rate upgrade from a standard room to a Jr. Suite. Once when I stayed at Gold Dust West Carson I was offered my choice of the standard $60 rate room or the Junior Suite for $70 upgrade at the BunnyRanch rate plus tax, and I decided to pay the little extra for the bigger room. Try finding a better deal for Friday or Saturday nights in the area, the BunnyRanch discount is good 7 days a week. One good thing about the Gold Dust West, they do not charge a "resort" fee like some other Reno and Tahoe casino hotels do. You get free wifi internet too, along with the free breakfast. The Gold Dust West Carson City only has 126 rooms and doesn't have as many as the mega resort hotels in Reno like the Atlantis with 824 rooms and Peppermill with 1635 rooms so the Gold Dust West can run out of rooms at times. Some Nevada cities and counties change their hotel tax rates to add money to their budget, so hotels can't predict hotel tax rates into the future and don't have control over it.

Just had a nice gentleman take advantage of this deal a couple nights ago and he came back the next day telling us how happy he was with the decision. the food is great and the staff are awesome. so cool Dennis has connections like this for you guys!! take advantage of it! Come party for a few hours then sleep it off at the gold dust and wake up to an amazing breakfast!
