I used to work for the Marines. I wasn't in the service; I was a civilian contractor working on the Marine Online system out of an office building in downtown Indianapolis. I always liked the USMC birthday because we all went for an all staff meeting where they did a ceremonial cake cutting. I loved that they cut the cake with a sword.
