Firewalker. Chuck Norris and Louis Gossett, Jr. star in this buddy pick about two regular guys who leave mundane lives behind to become treasure hunters. "A moment frozen in time." ~ Leo Porter
Killing Zoe. This movie has been called, "the barometer by which Generation X gauged its own nihilism." While I don't know if that's true, it was a pretty decent crime flick.
Once Upon a Time in the West. In my opinion, this is Sergio Leone's masterpiece. I think it surpasses The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly. It has a top-notch cast, Leone went to the brilliant Ennio Morricone for the music once again, horror master Dario Argento received a credit for helping to come up with the story, and you get to see Henry Fonda play a villain. On a side-note, before looking for an image to accompany this post, I had never seen the poster shown below. I kinda love it. The skull was a great touch. "People scare better when they're dyin'." ~ Frank
Rush Hour. Chris Tucker's best role since The Fifth Element. "The Beach Boys gonna get you a great ass whuppin'. Don't you ever touch a black man's radio, boy! You can do that in China but you can get your ass killed out here, man!" ~ Carter to Lee
Apocalypse Now. "They train young men to drop fire on people. But their commanders won't allow them to write 'fuck' on their airplanes because it is obscene." ~ Col. Walter E. Kurtz
Heat. A crime movie masterpiece by my second-favorite director, Michael Mann. "I'm angry. I'm very angry, Ralph. You know, you can ball my wife if she wants you to. You can lounge around here on her sofa, in her ex-husband's dead-tech, post-modernistic bullshit house if you want to. But you do not get to watch my fucking television set!" ~ Vincent Hanna
