I think we’re getting there! Tonight at work, I wasn’t hobbling around. I was actually walking normal. I did have a few twinges here and there. Still healing. Still have a long way to go.
On Thursday, I attended a hiring event at the Amazon warehouse in Salt Lake. I’m not sure how guarateed this job is, but I already drug tested for it, and orientation is a couple of weeks away. I love everyone I work with at my present job, but I gotta go where the money is. It’s a bit of a drive, past the airport even, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it.
That's great! If Amazon is going to the expense of orientation and drug testing, it sounds like the job is guaranteed. Congratulations on moving forward!
Well...I went today without the brace...and I probably shouldn’t have. But I better wear it tomorrow because I have work. I did Uber tonight, though it was a bit disappointing with only two calls, landing me only $13, but it’s only the start of the week. No word yet from Amazon, and I’ve been watching my email like a hawk.
Looks like I’m Amazon bound! I start in two weeks. I wore the brace while at work, but spent a good chunk of the day without it. I saw the WorkMed doctor yesterday, and he told me wear the brace off and on, but when my self off of it. My ligaments are still tender, but I need to strengthen them. I took a walk around the park, playing Ingress, without the brace. I got four laps in, then went home. It’s safe to say that if all goes well, and I make to Reno in the spring like I’m planning on, I’ll most likely not be wearing that brace.
Congratulations on the new job! I hope you like it. It's good to hear your ankle is healing. Sounds like there's some good progress.
Whoo Hoooo!!!!! Congrats. Things are looking up. You've been doing healing work on yourself on multiple levels and that is starting to get you going in a direction you want to go. So glad for you!
It still likes to remind me that I’m not 100% yet, but it’s a process. I told the doctor that I sprained this same ankle 15 years ago when I worked for the city, but it healed quicker then. This was when I was getting a ride to and from work, and my ride dropped me off in front of the neighborhood, so I had to Frogger my ass across the street and walk home on my bad ankle. I was not thrilled. The doctor liked my progress. When he first saw me, I was on crutches.
Thanks. I let my boss and most everyone who was working that day know what was going on. One of my coworkers wants to join me. I gave her the information I had for the hiring events. If she gets on, it’ll be nice having at least one familiar face. We could carpool, too.
I mowed my neighbor’s lawn and my own. She’s in Vegas, and she’ll get back on Sunday. A little more money for the vacation fund. Speaking of mowing lawns...some of you might remember a fantasy I posted a while back about one of the girls being a hot or cute neighbor that asked for help with her lawn. I’m kicking around getting pics of me pushing a lawn mower for porn fantasy fuel. LOL
Next week, I go in for my orientation at Amazon. I got an email stating that it was supposed to be today, but I had it changed to next week. Here’s hoping things didn’t get crossed. I’d hate to think I quit my job to go to a new one, and didn’t get it because they screwed up.
I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure Amazon knows what they're doing. If they can't manage technology, who can? You might shoot them an e-mail, just to confirm.
Done. The MyDoc they sent me that I signed says October 3, and it’s bookmarked on my phone just in case.
And in other news, my ankle is doing better. I still have a twinge here and there, especially during my Ingress walks at the local parks, but it’s to be expected. I’m no spring chicken anymore.
Yep. I knew it. Damn, and I almost made that park pretty, too. Well, back to the drawing board, farming gear, and once I have enough...revenge!
Tonight, I wore the brace. I went out for Ingress before picking up my daughter from school, capturing a couple more portals and creating some fields, but my ankle wasn’t having it. Plus, I had to run after my daughter coz she caught up with her friend who was walking with her grandpa to their car. I told my daughter that I’m not supposed to run with my ankle the way it is. I hope I can survive 12 hour shifts at Amazon.
Just a suggestion: try listening to binary beat music when you go to sleep. You can google it and a ton of 8+ hour worth of music posts come up. It's very relaxing and I find that it takes me into a beyond sleep realm of relaxation. Hope you are feeling better!
Yesterday was my last shift at CAL Ranch. Tonight is my orientation at Amazon. It’ll be great to have a better paying job. I love the people I worked with, but I gotta go where the money is.
I am sorry to hear that you fell. I hope that you heal quickly and can move gracefully more so now then ever.
What a hell of a shift that was. I’ve done 12 hours in the past but not all night. As soon as I drop my daughter off at school, I’m hitting the hay.
