Partial Solar Eclipse Saturday Morning (Oct. 14)

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by shyguy71, Oct 13, 2023.

  1. The Reno area will experience a partial annular eclipse ("ring of fire") at around 9:20 AM this Saturday the 14th. The closest town to Reno to see the entire Ring of Fire will be Imlay, about a 2 hour drive but will last less than a minute, to see the full annular eclipse the closest will be Winnemuca lasting for 4 minutes.
All lower 48 U.S. states will get a partial eclipse, but only certain areas in Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas will get the full “ring of fire” effect.

I tried to view it..but didn’t have any viewing glasses. By the time I found some, it was too late.
