    1. The Origins: The fear of the number 13, known as "triskaidekaphobia", can be traced back centuries. One popular theory hails from the Last Supper, while another is grounded in Norse mythology. Both stories share the ominous implications of the 13th guest.

    2. Buildings & Floors: Have you ever noticed a building that skips the 13th floor? (Every Hotel and Resort) This architectural quirk stems from the pervasive phobia surrounding the number.

    3. Black Cats: These graceful creatures are often associated with witches and bad omens. While many consider them a sign of impending doom, others view them as protectors and symbols of mysticism.

    4. Avoiding Certain Activities: Some choose to tread cautiously on this day, avoiding travel, significant decisions, or other big endeavors.

    5. Popular Culture Impact: Media has amplified the intrigue surrounding this day, with various movies and books spotlighting the eerie nature of Friday the 13th.

      • Lucky Socks & Jewelry: Many believe wearing certain items can repel bad vibes.
      • Carrying Salt: A pinch thrown over the left shoulder is believed to ward off evil spirits.
      • Horseshoes: Displayed above doorways, they are considered to bring good luck and protection.
      • Four-leaf Clovers: A universally recognized symbol of luck.
      • Touching Wood: This ritual is believed to ward off bad luck or prevent jinxing oneself when making a hopeful statement.
      • Positive Affirmations: Many hold onto the belief that positive thinking and speaking good intentions can set the tone for the day.
    7. Countering Bad Luck: Some say that if it rains on Friday the 13th, it washes away the bad luck, or that seeing a rainbow can offset any misfortunes of the day.

WOW! This is great information! When I first noticed that the 13th floor was missing I assumed it was an error. Then I started noticing that the 13th floor was always missing and I always wondered why. Thanks for the info now I know lol!

I'm a firm believer in touching wood! I touch my wood as often as I can. Sometimes I touch it two, maybe three times a day! o_O
