Daylight savings was initially designed to conserve resources like fuel, tires and food supplies during WWII I believe, but now every time Congress tries to get rid of it other members of Congress try to add spending or partisan legislature to it so it keeps getting voted down. There is currently a bill to get rid of daylight savings but it is in committee and may not be brought to the floor because of the immediate need to address federal funding to stop a government shutdown. It's an antiquated practice and needs to be done away with however some states have already done so, Hawaii, Alaska and Arizona, there are a couple counties in Indiana that don't observe it. I'm all for doing away with it.
The reasons for Daylight Savings Time went away years ago and it’s long over due for this rule to disappear too!
