The new year is coming up so I think it's really important to stick to a few goals and finish them! I am an investor. I invest in stocks and start up companies! There are five more things I plan on investing in, in the very new future. You would be amazed how much my clients are a HUGE part of my future, and allowing me to have financial security. Consider starting a Roth IRA. You can invest in individual stocks, SPDRS, mutual funds, etc. within the Roth. You can buy and sell, and not worry about the tax implications unless you pull out of the Roth before you're 59 1/2, so make sure it's money that's earmarked for retirement. At your age, if you put in as often as possible, you will meet your retirement goals. On top of that, any earnings will not be taxable if you leave it in the Roth until that magic age of 59 1/2
It's something I've learned as I go!! No right way to do it, But just finding something you believe in, that's the key!

My favorite book on investing is "The Guru Investor - How to Beat the Market Using History's Best Investing Strategies". It discusses how some money managers used their own strategy to make money for mutual funds. For my own portfolio, I have a fetish for stocks that pay dividends. I think my all time favorite stock is Realty Income Corporation (O), which pays out a monthly dividend.
