Miami Vice. Michael Mann was the executive produce on the '80's t.v. show, and he directed the big screen version. Not his best work, but it was entertaining. "Things go wrong. The odds catch up. Probability is like gravity: you cannot negotiate with gravity. One day... one day you should just cash out, you know? Just cash out and get out." ~ Det. "Sonny" Crockett
Wild Bunch, The. My all-time favorite western. "Eh, 'Generalissimo', hell! He's just another bandit grabbin' all he can for himself." ~ Dutch "Like some others I could mention" ~ Pike Bishop "Not so's you'd know it, Mr. Bishop. We ain't nothin' like him! We don't HANG nobody!" ~ Dutch
Zebrahead. Olive Stone, a young Michael Rapaport, romance, and racial tension. Fun for the whole family!
Alone in the Dark - a trash adaptation of a video game classic starring the affable Christian Slater, directed by slimeball Uwe Boll
Circle of Iron (a.k.a. The Magic Flute). This movie was sort of Zen primer/martial arts/fantasy movie. It had some good actors in it (Christopher Lee, Ely Wallach, Roddy McDowall). I saw it when I was little, and it stuck with me. "Cord... each moment that passes changes you. You do not... cannot possess even yourself. How can you hope to possess anyone or anything else?" ~ The Blind Man
I've never heard of this, and it sounds awesome Duplex - a by the numbers comedy that gets by on the chemistry and quirkiness of Drew Barrymore and Ben Stiller
Fletch. Chevy Chase's funniest movie by far, exceeding even Vacation. "Are you a cop" ~ Teenager "As far as you know." ~ Fletch "Are you gonna take me to jail for car theft?" ~ Teenager "Why? Did you steal the car?" ~ Fletch "I sure did." ~ Teenager "Well, I'm not even sure that's a crime anymore. There've been a lot of changes in the law." ~ Fletch
HUGE Chevy fan, one of my favorite films of all time!! Ghost in the Machine - cheesy but enjoyable sci-fi thriller
Last Dragon, The. A martial arts/fantasy/semi-musical set in mid-'80's Harlem. To my mind, this is the very definition of a cult classic. Just thinking about it puts a smile on my face. "Now, when I say, 'Who's da mastah?' you say, 'Sho'nuff!'" ~ Sho'nuff, the Shogun of Harlem
Onion Field, The. A movie about the aftermath of the murder of a policeman, and the attempted murder of another. I think if James Woods and Ted Danson were in a movie together today, they would literally try to kill each other.
