I am not sure if this is the proper place to ask this but here goes.... I am planning a trip to the bunny ranch and was wondering if there are any hotels or good motels nearby. I emphasize 'good' so that transfer of bedbugs to the ranch does not happen!. Is Reno the closest I will get? Thanks in advance...

By checking any booking site such as Expedia, booking.com, etc., you can find an abundance of reputable places to stay in Carson City.
I stayed at a Ramada in Reno. However, Carson City is closer. It’s the state capital, so I am sure you will find plenty of reputable chains.
if you want to stay in reno i recommend the peppermill if your in carson city i recommend the gold dust west.
I think Reno has the best hotels/resorts! About a 30-40 minute drive to us, but I think its worth it to stay at a resort!

I am aware of the hotels. com like sites but where possible I prefer to get a recommendation from someone who has stayed somewhere before or someone from the area. Having been burnt before I don't blindly trust pictures and reviews from relatives of the owner.
When I went to Carson, I stayed at Gold Dust West. It’s been some years, but I enjoyed it. When I went, they gave me a complimentary breakfast for their restaurant both mornings I was there. Sadly, they don’t do the Bunnyranch discount anymore, last I heard. Their casino is mostly slots but they also have a bowling alley with a (very) small arcade. It’s not too bad. I do remember winning pretty good and the casino attendant seemed annoyed about giving me my cash winnings. I’m not sure if I’ll do Gold Dust West again as it was rather pricey, but still, not a bad place.
I like to stay at the Atlantis Casino and Resort in Reno. The Bunny ranch always sends a car to pick me up when I've got an appointment with a lady. The museums are a short cab ride away. My favorite museum is the automobile museum. The Atlantis is also close to the airport and they provide a shuttle.
Reno has better hotel/casinos to stay at. We have a complimentary driver that can come pick you up too!
