12 mines... zinc silica uranium and gold Working on a masters in engineering Been 4000 feet underground for a few years.. Worked below sea level the last ten years Ran cross country in high school and sort of kinda in college Commission in Corps of Engineers long ago between the wars Really like a honky tonk, but haven’t found one since I left Arkansas in 2006
Wow! Those are some interesting facts!! What did you run in cross country? I ran the 1 and 2 mile, but I was never really good at it. I'm looking for a good honky tonk as well! Let me know if you find one, please.
1mile then the 2 mile in the spring. No one wanted to do the 2 mile. 5k fall of senior year. Getting to far for me, and I wasn’t fast enough....
Concerts I have seen: 2007: Viva La Bands Apparently this was hosted by Bam Margera (remember him?), but he didn’t tour. His segments were all prerecorded, videos of him introducing the next band, playing pranks on his dad, and skateboarding videos, as well as music videos. The touring bands were Veins of Jenna, CKY, and the two I came to see; Gwar and Cradle of Filth! Gwar easily had the best set, and they weren’t even the headlining act! 2008: Gwar This one was memorable because my then pregnant wife had to come with me. I questioned her wisdom on this. The two opening acts, Toxic Holocaust and Kingdom of Sorrow, were good, but we were waiting for Gwar, whose stage show was both gory and funny. I don’t know if Gwar is any funnier since the loss of Dave Brockie, but I hadn’t had a chance to see them afterward. 2009: Cannibal Corpse My wife had to come with me to this one, too. Funny, she liked country music and didn’t like me playing metal in the car, but she’ll go to a concert. Of the four bands, I only remember Obscura and Cannibal Corpse. I got to meet George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher and Alex Webster. Awesome guys! 2014: King Diamond King Diamond’s Utah debut in his 30+ year career was awesome! I’m glad he finally came to Utah, as he’d avoided playing here till then. His opening bands were great too, in the form of Salt Lake’s own Visigoth and another band called Jess And The Ancient Ones. King himself was in great form, but sadly, on this tour after SLC, he found himself the victim of food poisoning, and had to shorten a few, and even cancel a show. 2015: King Diamond King Diamond toured again the following year, this time performing Abigail in it’s entirety, and had Exodus opening for him. It was a great time. 2016: Ghost This would have been my daughter’s first concert, but she backed out. I was bummed and relieved at the same time. I can’t remember who opened for them, but Ghost themselves were great. 2017: Butcher Babies and Cradle Of Filth This concert was supposed to be a guys night out for me and my brother in law, but my wife had to weasel her way into it. The concert itself was awesome, though it got squeezed into the smaller arena. First time I saw Butcher Babies and the second time I saw Cradle. A great time! I have yet to go to another concert.
Oh wow its pretty amazing how much we have in common, @Natasha Star ! You are so fascinating and love how multifaceted and dynamic you are. XOXO Sandi
Also, I’ve taken up pranking scammers. I have a few calls recorded. I just gotta try and convert them to video format.
This must be a universal thing. No one wanted to do the 2 mile at my school either. (Including me! lol!)
Th The good news is my friend, George, got me a ticket to see Sabaton in October. The bad news is I might not make it if I don’t have the leave.
Random Fun Fact I learned during my 6 weeks away .... I much prefer using vinyl nails over galvanized. (And I am not talking about manicures. )
I had the distinct honor of meeting Natasha the year after my divorce was finalized. I’m glad I got to see her when I did. Not only was she very beautiful, but she had a great sense of humor. She was also a sweetheart. I was working toward a second party with her when she retired. I hope she’s doing good.
