They aren't dire wolves. They are just Grey wolves with some dire wolf gene codes put in. Basically they might grow a bit bigger then Grey wolves. Not a fan of this idea with gene splicing.
Problem with that is you run out of predators for the predators. Think they did s few movies showing what happens.
This particular brand of wolf was built to hunt beasts far larger than it. It was a bigger, stronger animal but probably not as agile as your standard gray wolf. The problem with releasing it in the wild would be, what would it hunt? We have no great lumbering beasts for a wolf built like a tank.
I have mixed feelings about this....like it's cool...but SHOULD we be doing it??? Immediately followed by did we note learn ANYTHING from Jurassic Park??
