Dream a Little Dream. I'm kind of ashamed to admit this is still one of my favorite movies. "Thank you for a frightening, confusing, strange and dangerous time. What more could a girl ask for?" ~ Lainie Diamond
Grosse Pointe Blank. A really funny movie, with a great soundtrack. "Hi. I'm, uh, I'm a pet psychiatrist. I sell couch insurance. Mm-hmm, and I - and I test-market positive thinking. I lead a weekend men's group, we specialize in ritual killings. Yeah, you look great! God, yeah! Hi, how are you? Hi, how are you? Hi, I'm Martin Blank, you remember me? I'm not married, I don't have any kids, but I'd blow your head off if someone paid me enough." ~ Martin Blank
Miller's Crossing. This is my favorite Coen brothers movie. "I'm talkin' about friendship. I'm talkin' about character. I'm talkin' about - hell. Leo, I ain't embarrassed to use the word - I'm talkin' about ethics." ~ Johnny Casper
Payback. Ah, the good ol' days before Mel Gibson went a little too nuts, even for Hollywood. "You'd think after five months of lying on my back, I would have given up any idea of getting even, just be a nice guy and call it a day. Nice guys are fine: you have to have somebody to take advantage of... but they always finish last." ~ Porter
secretary. I don't usually like movies that have lawyers as main characters, but I found this one... compelling.
Vampire in Brooklyn. Quite possibly Eddie Murphy's worst movie, ever. That being said, the title would be good for a horror/comedy/porno, if the leading lady's name was Brooklyn.
Zero Effect. I really love this movie. It's a modern (1998) re-imagining of Sherlock Holmes with Bill Pullman playing the great detective (named Daryl Zero), and Ben Stiller playing his long-suffering assistant (Steve Arlo). The main difference is Stiller's character is a lawyer instead of a doctor.
