{"id":6154,"date":"2020-03-17T17:58:35","date_gmt":"2020-03-17T17:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bunnyranch.com\/blog\/?p=6154"},"modified":"2020-05-23T23:26:41","modified_gmt":"2020-05-23T23:26:41","slug":"nevada-brothels-confront-tackle-virus-dangers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bunnyranch.com\/blog\/nevada-brothels-confront-tackle-virus-dangers\/","title":{"rendered":"Nevada Brothels Confront, Tackle Virus Dangers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>(Chuck Muth)<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 Nevada\u2019s legal brothels \u2013 like every other business in the state, especially service businesses \u2013 are experiencing challenges posed by the continued spread of the Wuhan Virus.<\/p>\n<p>But unlike most other businesses, brothels already have extensive experience in minimizing health risks to their workers, their clients and the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe women working in our ranches are already subjected to weekly health tests,\u201d noted Suzette Cole, owner of four brothels in Lyon County and president of the Nevada Brothel Association PAC.\u00a0 \u201cAnd our people have been fully trained to screen clients for potential health risks and take appropriate measures to protect everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever,\u201d she continued, \u201cthe coronavirus threat is far more serious than what we usually deal with, so we\u2019ve taken a number of additional safety precautions at our properties that are in line with recommendations by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and other health care professionals.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among the additional steps detailed by Ms. Cole\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Regular staff memos and management reminders on good hygiene practices to all brothel workers, employees and patrons<\/li>\n<li>Adding hand sanitizers to all entrances, exits and public areas<\/li>\n<li>Enhanced deep-cleaning and sanitizing of high-contact surface areas \u2013 including restrooms, ATM machines, bar tops and door handles \u2013 every two hours<\/li>\n<li>Suspension of all group staff meetings until further notice<\/li>\n<li>Suspension of all group events, parties, social gatherings and celebrations until further notice<\/li>\n<li>Reducing by half the number of bar stools to increase the space between customers<\/li>\n<li>Implementing additional \u201csocial distancing\u201d recommendations by the state\u2019s Medical Advisory Team<\/li>\n<li>Invoking an indoor smoking and vaping ban in all public areas, including the parlors and bars<\/li>\n<li>Prohibiting clients and workers who have been overseas in the previous 14 days<\/li>\n<li>Courteously and professionally asking patrons exhibiting signs of illness (coughing, fever or breathing difficulties) to come back at another time<\/li>\n<li>Requiring independent contractors who are ill to return home or check into a hotel and self-quarantine until well<\/li>\n<li>Sending employees home if sick and requiring a doctor\u2019s note before being allowed to return to work<\/li>\n<li>Encouraging \u201cvirtual happy hours\u201d with clients and friends to maintain human connections and social interactions during this stressful period of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ms. Cole added that she is monitoring press reports and communicating regularly with medical professionals, first responders, law-enforcement and elected officials to keep up-to-date with developments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHealth and safety is, and always has been, our primary concern,\u201d she concluded. \u201cWe\u2019ll continue be vigilant, caring and sensitive in order to safeguard our workers and clients and do our part to bring this national crisis to a close as quickly as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Mr. Muth is president of Citizen Outreach, a limited-government grassroots advocacy organization, and government affairs counsel to the Nevada Brothel Association.\u00a0 His views are his own.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Chuck Muth)\u00a0\u2013 Nevada\u2019s legal brothels \u2013 like every other business in the state, especially service businesses \u2013 are experiencing challenges posed by the continued spread of the Wuhan Virus.
