New York, NY February 25, 2005 – A mother decides her 22-year-old son’s
been a virgin long enough.A couple yearns for a little extramarital
action. A pair of brothers hopes to
live out
their porn-star fantasy. If they’ve got
a credit card, it’s all there for the asking at Nevada’s Moonlite Bunny
Ranch, a
legal brothel, where “It’s not just sex—it’s an adventure.”
HBO Video debuts the America Undercover Documentary Cathouse, which
takes an
in-depth look behind the closed doors
of a renowned Nevada
brothel. Available June 7, 2005, the DVD
features an
interview with brothel owner Dennis Hof.
Cathouse , which first
premiered on HBO
in
December 2002, used hidden cameras to eavesdrop on intimate
conversations and
on the negotiations between “working girls” and their customers at the
Moonlite
Bunny Ranch located in a sparsely populated desert outside of Reno. A
first-ever look at the inner sanctum
of a legal brothel, the documentary captures everything from a nervous
19-year-old virgin, to a ménage à trois scenario, to the
opportunity to fulfill
celluloid dreams with stars of X-rated films.
Synopsis
Since
prostitution was declared legal in a few counties in 1972, bustling
brothels like the Moonlite Bunny Ranch have
become a
mecca for men and women looking to live out their sexual fantasies.
Dennis Hof, owner and operator of the Bunny
Ranch since 1992, has cleaned up and spiced up the ranch in an effort
to
attract a more upscale clientele of high rollers, as well as ordinary
guys. Suzette, the madam of the
ranch, rules
the roost and keeps the business running like clockwork. She pays close
attention to the clients,
makes sure the girls learn how to get the most for their services, and
screens more
than 30 calls each day from prospective employees. Cathouse
features several
working girls, such as Hof’s girlfriend, Sunset Thomas, a Penthouse
Pet, porn
star and the youngest inductee into the Adult Video Hall of Fame;
“Airforce
Aimee,” whose athleticism and enthusiasm offer up a veritable boot camp
of
sexual possibilities; Deana, a thoughtful and sweet blonde-next-door
with a
little something extra; “Julia,” a first-time working girl whose
husband is
home with the kids; and Felicia, a siren who thinks of herself as a
“sex
therapist.”
