Dennis Hof, owner of the world famous Bunny Ranch legal brothel and star of HBO’s "Cathouse," is formally considering a bid to purchase the iconic Playboy Mansion with the intention of converting it into a Hollywood headquarters for his booming sex business. The palatial estate is on the market for $200 million, and Hof sees a fantastic opportunity to use the historical location as a west coast office, entertainment facility and staging area for his seven legal brothels located just over the California border in neighboring Nevada. The Nevada Secretary of State's Office says the star of the HBO series "Cathouse" filed paperwork Friday in Carson City to run for Assembly District 36. The district includes Pahrump, the southern Nevada town where his Love Ranch brothel is located. Hof was in the spotlight last year after former professional basketball player Lamar Odom was found unconscious at the brothel. Hof publicly toyed with the idea of running for U.S. Senate and state Senate before filing for Assembly. Hof also grabbed headlines when sex workers at one of his brothels launched a "Hookers for Hillary" campaign supporting the former Secretary of State.
