can't tell you how many times I have tried clicking on the General Discussion forum but by the time the page loads from all the signatures on my computer, I have actually clicked onto the cam site. It's far too easy to keep hitting that link
Same for me MellowYellow. My browser's "back" button doesn't take me directly back to where I was on the message board either. It takes a little more work for me to get back to where I was. It seems like when you click on the cam site, it loads another page right away. Pretty clever of them to make it more work to get out after they "lock you in" to the cam site, even when you click on the cam site accidentally.
If a girl has it as part of her signature - I'm pretty sure that's against the rules? If you're clicking it because it's an ad that clings to the pages I highly suggest you download AdBlock Plus. It's free. You can get it for your computer as extensions for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox and you can also download it as an app that will get ads off of browsers on Android devices. I don't see any adds on the forums at all and most of the ones on the websites don't load either.
Thanks a bunch Kitti. I just downloaded AdBlock Plus for my Firefox browser and it works, just what some of us wanted to stop seeing those webcam ads.
I really believe these forums would do better if they were ad-free. I've seen how it shows up on others' computers and the ads can be real deterrents. Meaning any advertising done on these forums would be rendered even less effective than it already is.
I totally agree and also I'm kind of sad for Dennis because his website looks like a very old outdated porn site with all the bad porn sites you can imagine much together I would be so much more happy and content if he could make the website Even look like the way Facebook did in the first months it was on the Internet.
Could they also perchance be removed from the ranch websites themselves as well? It seems kind of almost self sabotaging to have advertisements for camgirl and hookup sites on a site for brothels selling sex. As camshows are free and "meeting local singles" can also be. Just, uh, kind of defeats the purpose? How about ads for sex toy shops or something instead? Or taxi services and hotels local to the area of the brothels? Keep things more focused.
I had Adblock Plus for a long time and it worked great until this past spring, when certain ads started to squeeze past it and rumors started to swirl about the company taking payments from certain advertisers to unblock their ads. Someone on a message board suggested the uBlock Origin add-on for Firefox. I installed it and, well, it immediately blocked those remaining sneaky ads, as well as a myriad of others (it even displays a running total [number of current ads it is blocking] at the top right of each page you visit). I've been using it ever since. (In fact, on this very forum sub-page, my little uBlock Origin icon says it's currently blocking 5 ads.) Anyway, so, there's another option for you guys.
The pennies the sites make from accidental/on purpose clicks can't possibly be worth more than the potential business we're losing by people making those clicks and getting their free jerk off material or the ability to meet "hot local singles" for free. This really should be common business sense in the digital age at this point. If I had a site selling movies or whatever I wouldn't have ads on it for services that offer free streaming or torrenting. Plus I know several Ladies do camming and such when they're not at the Ranches but aren't allowed to advertise such business ventures here - so that's just really extra not fair.
