I'm glad that everyone had a great time at St. Patrick's this past weekend, and that everyone is doing well, even with the mess going on right now with COVID-19. I still plan in coming out in September with Brent for our 60th birthday, and we know that as the world continues to go crazy, the Ranches are a oasis of calm and refuge, along with some of tbe best damn people around!

Everyone please stay safe and healthy, and keep hanging in there! We're gonna get through this. Much love to you all!

It's really good to see the ranches taking such extensive precautions. Am planning on being at the ranches in September with brother @aztecwarrior2881 , and hopefully we will get to help celebrate the birthday of @ColinSTL and @BTFSTL! @RunningSquirrel, it would be great if you could be there the weekend of the 12-13th! The testing situation is ridiculous. We should be able to cough on our phone and it will tell us if we have a virus or not.

  4. Is anything changing with the new State-wide closures announced by the governor tonight?

Dang @ColinSTL I just noticed you are one of the Old School board members here back from 2008. Now that's staying power!

I'm 600 miles away or a 9 hour drive from MBR. I was just there so not sure when I'm coming back.

Editor's note: For anyone who is unsure if their business is essential or nonessential, you are encourage to call your company for details. FOX5 was contacted by workers in several industries following the announcement and we are working to gather that information.

This is the SAME exact message the Mayor of Los Angeles put out just a day or so ago. So the Nev. Governor is just copy catting other states. Not sure how the hell any business is going to survive a 30 day closure. Let's hope this alleged Stimulus Package bails them out down the road.

    His whole list:
    • Non-essential services such as beauty shops, barber shops, and nail, tanning, and waxing salons should close until further notice.
    • Only essential businesses should remain open such as, pharmacies, grocery stores, drug and convenience stores, banks and financial institutions, hardware stores, and gas stations. I am asking grocery stores consider special hours for the vulnerable populations
    • All gatherings should be postponed or canceled. This is not the time for sleepovers, playdates, concerts, theater outings, or athletic events. Although you may not be experiencing symptoms at this time, you may be contagious. Do not risk your own heath or the health of others.
    • Many of you will not be in your office or at work over the next few weeks. This is not a vacation and it’s not the time to catch up with friends. It’s definitely not the time to go to the movies. Every social contact increases your risk of exposure. The bigger the group, the higher your risk.
    • This means that you should stay away from auditoriums, stadiums, arenas, large conference rooms, meeting halls, and cafeterias.
    • I know in times of stress, many of you seek the release that comes from exercise. But this is not the time for you to be in a gym, healthclub, or fitness center. Until the risk goes away, find other ways to exercise such as home workouts, hikes, or other outdoor activities. But as you do so, remember to maintain social distancing from others doing the same.
    • Some events are unavoidable. We still want you to experience the joy of weddings, but this is not the time to bring your friends together -- especially if this will require travel. Consider postponing the celebration to a time when the risk is low or eliminated.
    • For my friends making preparations to say goodbye to loved ones, please limit the attendance at funeral services. Consider outdoor services where the risk of exposure is less than inside
    • This is only common sense. In a time where people are getting sick from simply being near others, this is not the time for gyms to remain open. This is not the time for casinos to remain open. This is not a time for community recreation centers, clubhouses, movie theaters and malls to remain open. If your business brings groups of people together, it should not be open.
    • Although I cannot and will not say that places of worship should be closed, I strongly urge our faith leaders to find ways to deliver to your congregation without bringing them together in person.
    • Charitable food distribution sites, including the meals being distributed to our students in wake of the school closings, along with grocery stores should remain fully open and operational. Food services for healthcare facilities and other essential facilities should remain open. Any buffet or food stations used in charitable food distribution settings should transition to boxed meals or served through gloved staff members or volunteers.
    • Restaurants throughout Nevada, in addition to pubs, wineries, bars, and breweries that include meals provided by a full kitchen should be reduced to serving food only in a drive-thru, take-out or delivery capacity. No dine-in at food establishments should be allowed until further notice. This also includes food courts, coffee shops, catered events, clubs, bowling alleys, and other similar venues in which people congregate for the consumption of food or beverages.
    • Pubs, wineries, bars, and breweries that do not include meals provided by a full kitchen must close.

    - Gov. Steve Sisolak.

@Pizza Man, I have questions about his "whole" list. The San Francisco Bay Area "shelter in place" orders seemed to have more. No mention by Sisolak about airlines and airports being essential. No mention of newspaper, TV and radio as being essential. No mention of mailing and shipping services, USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. as being essential. Are warehouses like amazon, Target, Walmart, grocery (Smith's, Raley's, Safeway, etc.) considered essential along with the planes and trucks that ship items to the warehouses and to the stores for distribution? I think medical care for both pets (veterinary services) and humans should be essential and not closed. Hopefully his whole list will be revised soon.

yeah that article seems to be written in a hurry by a sophomore writer. Let's hope Wed brings more clarification.

I already read what Suzette is doing to deal with this and haven't seen any updates since she posted. I will follow official Ranch press releases for the time being.

Can I assume that since bars were explicitly listed in the closures for Nevada that the bars at the Moundhouse ranches will be closed???

From what Shayla said on her thread, I believe all the bars in the moundhouse ranches of Carson City are indeed closed. As for the ranches themselves, they are still open but we don't know how long for.

Maybe, because Governor Sisolak didn't specifically mention brothels for closure in Nevada, could it be that he left it up to each county to decide what they determined was essential and non-essential? 80% of the voters decided to keep the brothels back in the 2018 elections in Lyon County so maybe the Lyon County commissioners thought they were essential too, or maybe that they needed the brothel license fees and related revenue like the work card fees, etc. to keep the county functioning. Not having big concerns about infectious transmissions at the brothels currently since they have a good track record, maybe the commissioners thought the brothels had more experience in dealing with brothel illnesses and concentrated their efforts on other businesses and services for temporary closure that didn't have plans in place.

Lyon County's emergency declaration on Monday 3/16/20 didn't mention specifically closing brothels either.

Hey there @Adventure Guy thanks for posting this link. This is very good news for all the ladies that rely on the ranches for their career path.

While I don’t drink and drive alcohol has never been something I would request from the bar.

Again, thanks for keeping us folks thousands of miles away updated. Sorry to hear the ski season came to an abrupt close.

I never drink any alcohol drinks unless its Lager Shandy but I can put up with soft drinks like cola for instance. Great to see and know that the ranches in Carson City will remain open.

No ladies have been forced to stay, but it's fortunate especially for those that stay there, they have somewhere to go. It always should be about choice. Based on testing the ladies get weekly and how the ranches are kept clean, it is safer there than just about anywhere else you can go in this country right now. I'm so happy Madam Suzette did the right thing and fought for the girls like she always has.

Doing exactly what Dennis would have done. I know he is looking down so proud with a big smile on his face!!!!

I look forward to seeing everyone that chose to stay this weekend!!!!

Don't forget that there are a small handful of ladies who actually LIVE Full Time at specific ranches which I'm not going to list. They made the personal decision to live there and in the long term they save money because rent is so expensive elsewhere.

They work 5 days a week usually and have 2 days off to go shopping or wherever they need to go. I've partied with a few so I know a little bit about this.

When the Governors original message came out I wasn't sure how exactly this would play out with the Ranches. It was a 50/50 decision and could go either way. Unfortunately it just takes ONE person to ruin it all for an entire house being that everyone is in such close proximity.

Since this virus takes 4-5 days to show any signs in a person this means a customer who had NO IDEA he caught it from the airport or wherever could spread it once inside the building.

Sure there are cleaning protocols and hand sanitizer but those only work so much in a business with close person to person contact.

We'll see everyone on the other side of all this. Not sure what this means for some of the ladies who actually live on property 24/7???

I tried that place because it offered a room discount for all the ranches. However it was too much of a "dive" hotel for me so I changed back to the My Place Hotel which is comparable in price and comes with a full kitchen.

They gave me a room completely on the other side of the casino and the entire hallway and room STILL smelled like cigarettes. Yuck!

This Covid-19 is truly the work of pure evil. I have a sinking suspicion that the anti-brothel zealots have been praying for something like this to happen so the brothels would close temporarily, and everyone else to them is collateral damage.

Suzette probably has to worry more about her staff and the ladies, especially the ones that have been around a few years. I would hope that Dennis left Suzette wealthy enough so that she personally didn't have to work ever again if she wanted to. Most of the staff live locally, no more than an hour or so from the ranches I would think. I've been around the brothels for 12 years, and I know some of the ladies live locally, and you can look up some of them because they say so in their posts and profiles. With so many businesses closed in the area and so many people out of work, jobs are hard to find, and many laid off people are trying to find work. The 30 day brothel closures might last longer and be extended if the closure ban isn't lifted because the coronavirus is still spreading. No one knows for certain if 30 days is enough. If the problem lasts until mid-August, that is 5 months of closures. One would hope that the panic and extreme containment controls ends then, so that schools can open for the new school year.

For some of you wondering where some of the house half of the party price goes for, staffing is one. Payment of licensing fees, taxes, utilities including electricity, telephone, gas, insurance and internet is another along with advertising. Some people don't know that it takes money to run a big business, it's not all profit because there are expenses.
I'm guessing what "staff" might include.
Groundskeepers and maintenance crews, fixing things that break and maybe caring for animals if there are any.
Drivers and the upkeep of vehicles that the ranch owns.
Housekeeping staff, cleaning the room, floors and the laundry, the ladies use a lot more sheets and towels than I do. For those of you that have partied at the ranches, do you think the ladies wash all the sheets and towels that are used for setup?
Door person, guest greeter, bartenders, kitchen cleanup. 4 brothels open, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, I count at minimum 16 people even if one person has overlapping duties. two 12 hour shifts, two alternating during the week for each shift.
Shift managers/cashiers. 16 people, just like above for 4 brothels.
The ones I don't see, like cooks, security, and office staff like human resources, accounting and maybe lawyers. Probably others that I don't know or haven't thought about.

With the brothels being closed, how many ladies and staff will actively be looking for work? I've talked to some ladies and staff that live locally, that is where "home" is and some have families and don't just live alone. School is out, unexpectedly. What do they do with their young kids? Babysitters cost money out of pocket too, and want to get paid in cash. The ones that "own" homes might have mortgage payments to make, some rent and some have leases. Those that have leases might fuck up their credit rating if they can't make on time payments, and all 3 are subject to being evicted for non payment depending on how bad it gets. Trust greedy landlords and mortgage companies and banks to be lenient? Hell no, they have no heart, they will evict a tenant as soon as they can because they are in it for the profit. Repossessed vehicles because they can't make payments? That happens too. I have to now support my son too, we live together and he works for a hotel in Reno.

The brothels for years have given money or have fundraisers for local organizations, many are non-profit. I think the food banks in Nevada are going to be even more busy now. Maybe there should be donations set up for out of work brothel workers, both ladies and staff.

Me to kinda. I'm in love with Buffalo Gold Collection penny slots. When I first showed up in Nov. 2019 I won about $700 on that machine. Took awhile but I did it and cashed out right away.

Fast forward to my 2nd trip and the guy sitting across from me was on one of those multi level machines where you pick the denomination. He started to pull $20 per spin max bet and won the grand prize of $3000 on not only that one but 2 others next to it all within 40 minutes. I was shocked. Turns out he won $2.5 mil in Vegas so I guess he could afford those 20 buck pulls at max bet!

On my most recent trip I didn't gamble at all and saved ALL my money for 4 separate parties for my b-day. It was MORE gratifying than a slot machine let me tell ya.

One thing I know for sure is the amount of taxes this business generates is astounding and comes out to just over $500K a year! That goes into the Lyon County coffers I assume.

As for chefs or meals in the kitchen I got the lowdown on that when I was eating birthday pizza in the dining area. All that food was brought in daily from a local restaurant on the right just before you hit the Bunny turnoff.

It is a big, well oiled machine coming to a grind halt affecting lives forever. I'm glad to have visited there just one more time as this was an INCREDIBLE place for me to get "therapy" in a way. Now I have nothing but time on my hands for the next several months to practice my skills.

Thank you ISurfer for all the great posts.

At this point amazon might be the best and most convenient for all ladies. Roxy said egift cards less than $75 sent to their email address. From what I've heard, at $75 they have to split the value with the house, only getting half. I don't think there is any rule about how often you can send or how often they can receive gifts.
