You’ve seen “Cathouse,” logged on and joined the message board, drooled over the ladies’ photos, and decided you’d like to visit the BunnyRanch. But you have questions. Many questions. And you can’t seem to find any answers.

Why are no prices listed? How far off the Vegas strip is the BunnyRanch located? What can I do once I get there? Is a condom required for oral sex as well? Why won’t the lady I e-mailed answer me? Where’s Isabella? What are the rules for using live chat?

The ladies of the BunnyRanch address questions such as these daily. We can answer most of them. We’re required to tiptoe around others. This thread is intended to help clarify why we do what we do, but unlike personal FAQs, it’s also intended to clarify why we don’t do what we don’t.

Without further ado, let’s explore some common questions for which you might have had difficulty finding an answer.

❤ How old do I have to be to visit? You must be 18 years old to enter, 21 to order alcoholic beverages at our full-service bar. We have many non-alcoholic choices for those who'd rather stay dry. The bar accepts cash only, but you will find prices far lower than any cabaret or strip club.

❤ I'm 17. Can I just hang out on the message board and get to know the ladies until I turn 18? Sorry, kiddo. Come back when you're 18. By entering the site, you certify that you are of legal age.

❤ I can’t find anything on the message board regarding rates, and no one in the chat room will talk about them. Why? Discussion of rates on the message board and in chat is prohibited; violators may be warned or banned. Ladies themselves cannot discuss prices outside the privacy of their bedrooms. We respect that you might need some clue as to whether you can afford a party before committing to a trip, but please understand that we can be of minimal guidance, contractually and under the law. Under no circumstances can we talk specifics. It’s as frustrating for us as it is for you, rest assured. Most ladies will work with your budget to provide a party you’ll be very pleased with.

❤ Are the prices the same for each lady, even those on HBO? As independent contractors, we set our own prices. Because ladies talk and newcomers are trained, there’s generally little disparity from lady to lady -- no matter her experience level, media exposure or anything else. It behooves us to keep rates reasonably consistent.

❤ Does having two girls increase the price? Not necessarily. You will need to work that out with the ladies you want to party with. One generally can’t speak for the other unless they’ve discussed it in advance.

❤ Can I select anyone I want for a multigirl party? As in any professional setting, we all have people we’re closer to and more attracted to than others. Often, a client will ask a lady to recommend a second lady to join them. This ensures the best possible chemistry among all involved.

❤ Do all of the ladies work with women and couples? Not all. Some are “strictly dickly,” while others, myself included, are bisexual and welcome women.

❤ If I bring my partner, can I just be in the room and watch? That's generally fine, but be sure to discuss it with your lady of choice.

❤ How much of what I pay goes to the lady? Half of what you spend in a party goes to the lady, half to the house. This includes any deposit or tip.

❤ Are tips required? No.

❤ I’d like to bring a gift, but I can’t find any wish lists posted. Why? It is against house rules to post wish lists on the message board. Please keep in mind that if you procure a gift valued at more than $75, the lady must pay the house half its value. You can also send gifts to 69 Moonlight Rd., Carson City, NV, 89706.

❤ Is it OK to just have coffee with a lady, or to treat her to dinner, away from the ranch and off the clock? Absolutely not. The house explicitly forbids ladies from meeting those who contact them through the ranch unless the rendezvous is booked through the ranch.

❤ Even if the lady is on vacation? Just as friends? Under no circumstances is it possible.

❤ Are there minimum prices? Again, we all set our own rates, and we all have a point at which it is no longer profitable to accept an arrangement. Remember, aside from paying half to the house, we have overhead expenses.

❤ What sorts of fees/expenses are associated with being a working girl? We incur licensing fees, daily room and board, STD testing costs, travel costs, costs of promotional materials, high taxes and any expenses for supplies (condoms, lubricant, toys, lingerie, etc.). For every $100 you spend on a lady, she pockets, at most, $30.

❤ Can two or more men book one lady? One lady must be present in a party for every male, but you can agree to have sex with only one lady, if you like. You must agree to terms with each lady.

❤ Will any lady do any activity I request? No. We all have our do’s and don’ts. It’s a good idea to discuss these with your lady of choice prior to your visit.

❤ Do certain activities, such as anal sex or BDSM, cost more? It varies by lady. If a party requires prep time, shopping or other groundwork ahead of your visit, it might be a consideration during negotiation. Be sure to ask.

❤ Is there a cover charge, or drink minimum, for entering the BunnyRanch? Nope! You're under no obligation.

❤ Where’s Isabella Soprano? I loved her on “Cathouse”! You and everybody else! Isabella has been out of the adult industry for several years. While it is not out of the question that she could return to the BunnyRanch, it is highly unlikely. We all wish her the best and appreciate all she's done to put the ranch in the spotlight.

❤ I’ve never seen most of the girls from the message board on “Cathouse.” Are they new? Not necessarily. The majority of ladies who ply their trade at the BunnyRanch elect not to appear on the hit HBO show, usually for privacy reasons. Some new faces began appearing in new episodes in the winter of 2010. There are at least as many beauties off the screen as there are on it.

❤ Why are photos up for ladies who are no longer active? Hundreds of ladies are licensed to ply their trade at the ranch at any time. Many have not asked to have their images removed, suggesting they may return. Furthermore, through their appearances on “Cathouse,” some are synonymous with the ranch and remain draws for those seeking more information.

❤ Does that explain why I haven’t heard back from the lady I e-mailed? Probably, but even among active ladies, some are more prompt than others in responding to e-mail. If you haven’t heard back from a lady within a week or two, it might be advisable to call the ranch to ensure she’s still available.

❤ I don’t know what some of the BunnyRanch menu items mean. Can you explain? Well, some are open to interpretation, but you can find some of my interpretations by CLICKING HERE.

❤ What is a “Viagra party”? It is simply a party during which you opt to use Viagra. We do not provide any drugs, prescription or otherwise.

❤ I want to come, but I’m worried I’ll be filmed. How do I know that won’t happen? Are there hidden cameras? HBO visits us a couple of times or so a year, usually for about a week. When HBO is in town, cameras are stationed in strategic locations. Here’s the thing, though: You cannot be filmed -- under any circumstances -- unless you sign a waiver in advance. We recognize that discretion is of utmost importance to our clients, and we would never jeopardize that.

❤ Is there a private entrance at the ranch that allows me to avoid the parlor? Yes. Your lady of choice can help you. We’ll do whatever it takes to safeguard your privacy.

❤ Does management listen in during negotiations and/or parties? No. There are intercoms in each room to allow communication if necessary, such as in the event of a medical emergency or to inform a lady and her client that it’s time to renegotiate. Nothing is ever recorded.

❤ Can I take photos/video? Some ladies guard their privacy more than others. You should discuss this with your lady of choice to ensure that everyone is comfortable. No photos or video are allowed without the permission of those appearing in them.

❤ Can I use the pool or hot tub without negotiating a party? Generally no, unless there's a special promotion.

❤ Is food available at the ranch? We go out of our way to make sure visitors are satisfied. If you have an appointment with a lady, she’ll take care of you. Otherwise, there is no shortage of dining options in the area.

❤ What do the ladies eat? One meal is provided Sunday through Thursday, two on Friday and Saturday. They're prepared in the kitchen of a restaurant owned by Dennis Hof, the BunnyRanch proprietor, and can range from enchiladas and a taco bar to pot roast with mashed potatoes to seafood and veggies. There's also a salad bar, sandwich bar, cereal, milk, a crockpot of soup and other assorted goodies. Ladies often will go grocery shopping or organize take-out orders as well.

❤ Does the ranch sell sex toys and videos? And can I bring my own? The BunnyRanch does sell toys and videos. Most ladies have a selection available as well. You can bring anything you like, but if you plan to use something on a lady, be sure that it's new, unused and in its original packaging. Discuss this with your lady of choice ahead of time, if possible.

❤ Can I bring a special outfit? That's usually fine, but be sure to discuss this ahead of time with your lady of choice. She may insist that the clothing be new and unworn.

❤ I’m planning a trip to Vegas and want to stop by the ranch. How far off the strip are you? If I had a dollar for every time a lady was asked this question … well, you know! Prospective visitors often mistakenly assume we’re located near Las Vegas. We’re actually near Reno/Carson City, about a seven-hour drive (or hour flight) north of Vegas. Round-trip flights from Vegas to Reno-Tahoe International Airport often can be had for around $100, and we can take it from there. For the record, prostitution is illegal -- and highly unsafe -- in Vegas.

❤ Should I use your limo service, rent a car or take a taxi? Please use our luxurious, affordable limo service. We feature courteous, professional drivers. It’s generally $55 round trip from Reno, $65 from Lake Tahoe, and $10 to $20 around Carson City. You simply can't beat those deals. If you don’t want to use our limo service, a rental may be your next-best bet. Taxis are very expensive in the area. Let your lady of choice know if you need help.

❤ Does one model of limo cost more than another? Nope. They're all the same price.

❤ Are there unmarked limos? Yes. Just ask if you'd prefer one.

❤ Can I stay at the ranch? Depending on the type of party you agree to, it’s a possibility. The BunnyRanch isn’t a hotel, but private bungalows can be made available -- usually for extended parties or overnighters. You can discuss your options with your lady of choice. There are, of course, several nice hotels within minutes of the ranch, including the discounted GOLD DUST WEST, and we can make a recommendation for you. Our limo service can take you anywhere you’d like to go.

❤ I've heard there are VIP suites. What makes them better than standard rooms? They're more spacious, feature fireplaces and private bathrooms with jacuzzi tubs, and have state-of-the-art electronics. Mine is a VIP suite, but it's no more expensive than any other.

❤ How long is an overnight stay? The duration of an overnighter is negotiated with your lady of choice, as is the duration of any other party.

❤ Will I be charged by the climax? This is another aspect of negotiation that is unique to each lady. I allow unlimited climaxes and activities.

❤ Is a lady required to party with a prospective client assuming he or she has sufficient funds? No. Everything is at a lady's discretion.

❤ I've heard it said that after booking, the lady receives a "party pack" from the secretary. What does that consist of? We call 'em "setups," and they include fresh sheets and towels. Other supplies are provided by the lady.

❤ What do I need to bring? Aside from party funds, your ID and a willingness to have fun, nothing! Condoms, lubricant and such are provided by the lady. If you have something specific in mind for your party, such as a certain music or toy, it’s a good idea to let the lady know so that she can help make it happen.

❤ Are the ladies of the BunnyRanch on lockdown? While other brothels do have lockdown periods during which ladies are not allowed to leave the premises, we can come and go pretty much as we please. We are treated with the utmost respect, as partners in other professional settings are. It’s no wonder thousands of ladies apply to work at the BunnyRanch each year!

❤ The posted lineup indicates that a certain lady is available for a two-week period, but I’ve discovered that she’ll be there for only a few days during that window. What’s up with that? Ladies set their own schedules. Some are at the ranch for a few days at a time, others for a week or two, and others pretty much full time. The lineup is a fluid thing, so while each lady on the posted list will appear at the BunnyRanch during the posted period, you should contact those you’re interested in -- either by personal message or e-mail -- or phone the ranch at 1-888-BUNNYRA to make sure they’ll be available when you are.

❤ Why don’t the posted lineups for the BunnyRanch include photos? The problem with posting photos with a lineup is that someone must choose which photos to use, and that’s a little like telling someone what to wear to a lineup. Because of turnover, the nature of independent contracting and many ladies’ desire to maintain privacy, it would be impractical to gather these preferences. Not every lady wants or has photos, too, which might put them at a disadvantage in any posted lineup. The happy medium here is to link names to profiles, if they exist.

❤ I've heard other brothels have credit/debit surcharges. Is that true of the BunnyRanch? Absolutely not. For the record, we accept all major credit cards except American Express. All purchases are billed as "Cash Advance Too, South Lake Tahoe." In addition to credit and debit, we also accept traveler's checks, money orders and, of course, cash.

❤ Is there an ATM on the premises? Yes.

❤ Do celebrities visit the BunnyRanch? Yes. Regularly.

❤ Which ones? Some, such as former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura and Motley Crüe singer Vince Neil, have talked openly about visiting the BunnyRanch. A number of professional athletes, actors and entertainers also have passed through our doors, of course. We protect the privacy of all who see us, without exception, so unless they choose to talk about it, our lips are forever sealed!

❤ Can I visit without partying? Yes. But it's always a good idea to make your intentions known, so as not to mislead the ladies.

❤ Can I book a lady for activities that don't include sex? Of course. Men and women visit us for a wide range of reasons, not all of them carnally motivated.

❤ What is protocol for talking to ladies at the bar? If you go to the bar, ladies will approach you one by one and are allowed to spend no more than 10 minutes at a time visiting with you. If by the end of that period you decide you'd rather not tour with her, she must yield to another lady.

❤ What do you mean by tour? A lady will show you around the place, usually inside and outside, a five- to 10-minute process that typically ends in her room. At that point, she's likely to ask if you're interested in a party. If you are, you'll discuss details. If you're not, she'll escort you back to the parlor.

❤ How is the order for a lineup determined? It's not. Whoever gets there first either starts the line or stands wherever she'd like to be.

❤ What is protocol for ladies in a lineup? The hostess will explain how the lineup will happen, and then the ladies will introduce themselves, from left to right. Ladies can smile or give a polite wave, but cannot call attention to themselves in an undue/unfair manner. You are not required to choose.

❤ What other parlor protocol can you share? Ladies must wear lingerie that covers key areas, including nipples. They also must wear heels. They are not allowed to wear denim, robes or otherwise casual attire unless specifically requested by a visitor, or they're off shift/unavailable.

❤ I’m planning a trip that’s a ways off, maybe six months or more. How do I know if a certain lady will be there? Your best course of action is to contact her by personal message or e-mail and ask her. I, for one, am happy to plan my schedule around yours.

❤ How do I know if a certain lady will be on shift when I arrive? And how do I know that she won't be spoken for? Shifts generally run 12 hours (14 on Fridays and Saturday) but can vary. The most reliable way to find out if someone will be available, again, is to contact a lady directly, either by PM or e-mail.

❤ I’ve heard that ringing the gate buzzer twice signifies something to the ladies. What? It generally indicates that the visitor wants to forgo a lineup. This could be because he/she has opted to simply visit the bar, isn’t ready for a lineup, or has an appointment scheduled.

❤ Do ladies prefer to be contacted by personal message or e-mail? We all have our preferences, but keep in mind that more ladies use e-mail than use the message board. Either way is fine by me, but I tend to get to e-mail first.

❤ Is it better to make an appointment, or just show up and pick from a lineup? Some enjoy the spontaneity of a lineup, while others find it impersonal. Some have a lady in mind, get to know her ahead of time and want to ensure she’s available, in which case an appointment is the way to go. Some, myself included, operate only by appointment.

❤ Can I have a lady meet me at my hotel? In Tahoe? Vegas? Officially, you must visit the ranch first and finalize terms, at which point you are free to travel -- together or separately. Of course, you can always come to the ranch well in advance to settle terms, then have the lady meet you at your agreed-upon destination at the appointed time. You're required to stay within Nevada state lines at all times.

❤ Can I bring my pet? Although a couple of ladies do have pets at the BunnyRanch, patrons are discouraged from bringing non-service animals. There are several boarding kennels in the area. Leaving a pet in your car isn't advisable much of the year, as it's often quite hot.

❤ Do ladies sleep in the room in which they party, or do they stay off site? That's up to each lady. Most stay in the same room, but some live nearby and commute.

❤ How do they decide which lady gets which room? Madam Suzette decides. She has a herculean management task in keeping us all happy, but she does it! There really isn't a "bad" room in the house.

❤ Is room decor standard? No. Ladies decorate their rooms to reflect their personalities and tastes.

❤ Is the BunnyRanch handicap accessible? Yes. And one of our limos, the London black cab, is ADA approved.

❤ Does the BunnyRanch offer men as well? No.

❤ What about she-males? No. But we can simulate such experiences via strap-ons!

❤ I noticed that many ladies are on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc., but they don’t post their addresses/usernames here. Why? It’s against house rules -- not to have them, but to advertise them. Same goes for personal phones and e-mail addresses.

❤ What do ladies do during “that time of the month”? Get overly emotional and crampy, of course! In all seriousness, though, we plan our schedules around it.

❤ What is the Love Ranch North? Our sister house, also owned and operated by Dennis Hof, is located about a mile south, is smaller than the BunnyRanch and houses fewer ladies. Both offer something for everyone. You might have heard the Love Ranch referred to as "BunnyRanch II," but that tag is no longer commonly used.

❤ There's a Love Ranch South too, yes? Indeed, the recent addition to Dennis Hof's holdings, which is smaller than both the BunnyRanch and the Love Ranch North, is located in Crystal, Nev., about 80 miles outside Las Vegas. The BunnyRanch is the one featured on HBO, in case you're wondering.

❤ Why are some ladies referred to as Bunnies and others as Cowgirls? Ladies of the BunnyRanch generally are referred to as “Bunnies” or “BunnyBabes,” while ladies of the Love Ranch often are referred to as “Cowgirls” or “Lovers.”

❤ Do all of the girls have sex with Dennis? No. I don't, among others. Any sex is always at a lady’s discretion.

❤ Are there non-smoking rooms at the ranch? Not per se, but some ladies -- myself included -- do not smoke. There also are areas around the ranch, some private, that are more palatable to those bothered by smoke.

❤ What is St. Pogus? I see references to it all the time. St. Pogus is a weekend-long party, usually around St. Patrick's Day, that features many in the message board community -- not to mention a packed house! Its name is derived from the message board handle (Pogus) of a generous, wonderful man who makes it happen.

❤ Are there live webcams at the BunnyRanch, as advertised on the main page? No. The new site is undergoing consistent upgrades, though, so look for something in the months ahead.

❤ The main page also mentions a members-only section. Is that operational? Not yet. Again, many tweaks and improvements have yet to be made.

❤ How do I become a member of a lady’s fan club? So-called fan clubs generally are started by message board members and are meant to be little more than silly, harmless support mechanisms. Sometimes a member will anoint himself/herself “president” of a club and express his/her support through posting activities. There are no official sign-up forms, fees or requirements. If you want to be in a fan club, consider yourself in! It’s a good idea to ask a lady if it’s OK to refer to her in your signature, especially if you’re using an image, but she’ll most likely be grateful you did.

❤ Am I required to pass an STD test to visit the BunnyRanch? No, but if you’re sexually active, it’s a good idea to get tested. We do check you out for any obvious signs of disease, and if we see something that gives us pause, we may respectfully decline your company. Ladies at the ranches are tested weekly for an assortment of diseases, and must be given a clean bill of health to operate. The process is state-regulated and mandatory. For the record, there have been no documented cases of STD transmission in a legal brothel since the regulations were put in place decades ago.

❤ How does the testing process work? A state-certified doctor visits the ranch weekly and conducts all testing in a sanitary room set aside for such. Ladies also have the option of visiting the doctor. Ladies are cleared to practice their craft the following morning.

❤ Does the ranch provide health insurance to ladies? No. Because we're independent contractors, we are responsible for our own coverage.

❤ Are condoms required even for oral sex? The law dictates that condoms be used for all sexual contact. Safety is front and center in Nevada’s legal brothel system.

❤ I want to use a certain type/brand of condom. Can I bring my own? Most ladies have a variety of condom options available -- from size to style to color to material -- and generally prefer to use them. If you have special needs, be sure to ask your chosen lady in advance.

❤ Do I need to "manscape"? Each lady has her own preferences when it comes to hair (or lack thereof) in key regions. It's a good idea to discuss this with your lady of choice in advance.

❤ I want to become a BunnyBabe. What do I do? Follow the steps POSTED HERE. Do NOT post contact information on the message board.

❤ I want to auction off my virginity. How can I do that? E-mail Dennis (dennis@bunnyranch.com). Management will decide if it’s worth pursuing. Do NOT post your interest in auctioning your virginity on the message board. If you do, your post will be deleted and you may be banned.

❤ I just got the call to join the ranch! What are some things I should do right away? Post your availability dates as soon as possible. Also, indicate which house -- BunnyRanch or Love Ranch -- you'll be at.

❤ I can't seem to log into live chat. What's up with that? Chances are, you tried to use your message board handle/password to log into chat. Live chat requires a separate registration from the message board.

❤ What are the rules for using live chat? The No. 1 rule is to be respectful of all chat community members, ladies and fans alike, at all times. If you do not abide by this, or the following, you are subject to a permanent ban:

1. NO sex chat/cyber sex or phone-sex requests.
2. NO harassing any members.
3. NO nude photos (except staff).
4. NO discussion of prices/rates.
5. NO multiple user names.
6. NO flame wars (trash talking among members).
7. NO offensive language toward women.
8. NO soliciting.
9. NO impersonating other chat members or ladies.
10. NO discussion of other adult-oriented services, communities or brothels.

Luckyguy and I called our credit card company before we left home for the Ranch and told them that we were going to a spa and would be putting an amount of money (we told them a ballpark figure) on the card. The girl was very nice and noted that we were going to have an expense coming up and said she wished she could have a spa vacation. (If she only knew). And no I won't say how much we spent but I will say it was well spent on the time of our lives.

I can't say that I agree with this one....doesn't seem fair. The gift is for you!

Ah, but what's to keep a client from compensating a lady largely in the form of gifts, thereby avoiding the house cut? What's to keep a lady from accepting an unusually low offer that has an expensive gift attached? You can see how it might get dicey.

Wow, very true Anna, I hadn't thought of that.....the fact that people might do that had never crossed my mind. What about if it was someone that you had never partied with, or maybe even personally met, that wanted to send you something because they are far away, and/or can't get to the ranch???

Anna, one of your answers made raised a question in my mind. If the party is going to be entirely an out-date, does that end up costing the lady less? In this case, I would assume she could bypass the 'Setup'.

You know, I've been doing some hunting on this on my usual haunts (Orbitz, Expedia) and every flight had a stop in another city, which of course violates the "stay in the Nevada border" rule. So to clarify, you want to check Southwest Airlines for the $100 nonstop (one-way) between Reno and Vegas, which is their web special fare. I don't know if there's other airlines, beyond charters, but you have to go to Southwest's site to book, versus a composite site like the others.

Call this the Suvari Special, since I know Anna wants to get to Vegas at some point!

Yes, the BunnyRanch has lots of room for big rigs.

Do you think anyone will post a newer line up for the Love Ranch South? I see what Anna wrote about needing to contact the ladies directly for appointment, but in this case, most ladies work near Reno so they are unlikely to be at Love Ranch South. A new line up would help narrow down which ones are likely to be at that location.

Oh yes it does, I should know .The last time I was there ,I had my Cascadia XT midroof,with a 53'spread axle trailer...No backing .....Easy in and out.......
