I may be a little behind here, but I just started watching this show, and I'm now completely hooked on it. I figured that some of you might also be fans, and it would be fun to start a thread to talk about it. (I just finished Season 3, so please no spoilers for Season 4!) Mixie Rose

CasanovasShadow wrote: Great show! Vince Gilligan was also behind the X-Files. I think it's interesting as the series has gone forward how Gilligan and the writing staff have made Walter more and more unsympathetic. He's turned into an antagonist. I know! I was really rooting him for him in the beginning, but it gets harder and harder. I always find myself feeling really sorry for Jesse. It seems like he gets a lot of the fallout from Walt's actions. The Season 3 ending had me in tears.

Has anyone been watching the new season? I'm loving it so far, and have the feeling it's going to get really crazy soon.

I started watching it 2 weeks ago and went on a mini marathon. I coincidently finished watching the entire series a day before the new season started.
even though I watched all the episodes almost non stop for days (thats just what I do sometimes)... I wasn't that impressed with it. i thought it was good, but it didn't live up to the hype for me i'm not invested in the characters.

Breaking Bad is my favorite show. The plot is extremely tight, the characters are compelling, and the acting is great throughout. I honestly cannot think of another show with this many characters that has no bad actors.

His transition to totally becoming "Heisenberg" has been one hell of a ride.

Mixie Rose I hear such great things about this show and it has a huge following. Looks like a marathon of the episodes is in my future. If you have Netflix, seasons 1-4 are all on there! It's so worth watching, and a marathon is the best way!

I haven't seen THE WIRE but it is on my 'to watch' list. I think if we ever sat down together, I believe we'd have a great chat about tv and movies

i don't watch a whole lot of tv shows. usually, you're just killing time. but when i saw AMC was gonna do a show called Breaking Bad, about a high school chemistry teacher who gets cancer and decides that, in order to leave his family with a little cash before he checks out, he's gonna use his chem expertise to cook some crank and make some real money, i thought, WOW. that's pretty bold! and sure as hell no network is gonna take a shot on a show like that.
i am now totally strung out on the show. we are now three episodes into season 5, which will run 8 shows. the end of BB is season six, with the final 8 episodes. as a tv series, it's just the best. period. and i know there are many people who rave about Mad Men, which is a very good show. but.....it's not Breaking Bad. these days, when i see movies, i compare them to BB. most of the time, if a movie's decent, i say that it's "almost as good as BB." that's how amazing BB is most of the time. season 4 was absolutlely brainblowing. week in and week out. stunningly good drama involving all these great and vivid characters. Gus Fring.....the coolest bad guy in the history of tv! and gus's fate....unbelievable.!
anyway, i could rave on and on. if you're interested, there's only one thing to do. one right way to join the party. start at the beginning. that's it. don't worry about season 5 going on right now. it'll be there for you when you're ready. start with the outrageous pilot episode. a landmark television show. and just mow down the seasons, right through to the end of season 4. if you dig t.v. drama, get ready for one helluva ride. but just do it the right way. you'll get there. i had a friend who started watching last year, and she wanted to get caught up. she watched the first three seasons in a week. and then, hopped on for season 4. it's just a great show.........the writing is SO good.......this is NOT a show for dummies, but a seriously NOW kind of .....oh god, i gotta just shut up and watch last week's episode. The boys are gettin ready to cook!

I use to think that the "Sopranos" was as good a television could get. That is until "Breaking Bad". The best cable series ever, no doubt. There is no better acting or story lines on TV today. Been a huge fan after I became hooked during season 2, now my Sunday nights are like religion. Turned on a lot of people to the show, everyone of them has thanked me for doing so. Nothing else like it has ever been on television.
The show just doesn't let you down. Remember the huge let down with the last episode of the Sopranos? Compare that to last seasons finale when Gus "exited" the show. Seriously, was that frikken awesome or what? Those writers give the viewers what they want. I LOVE "Breaking Bad"!

Most TV shows wouldn't dare attempt the things they pull off. They just added season 4 to Netflix, so it's really easy to start at the beginning for anyone who hasn't watched it.
