I know we have a lot of movie fans here, so I thought I'd start a thread where we can talk about upcoming movies that we're excited about, and share preview clips of cool films that we've come across. Feel free to share any that you're excited to see!

Here are two that I can't wait for:

The Cabin in the Woods (Already getting great reviews and really cool hype.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXfc12BqFkc" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" (Which I hear isn't a continuation of the Alien story, but set in that universe)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHcHYisZFLU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Maybe the Three Stooges. The actors portraying them look just like them, so I'm hopeful.

I was on the fence about the Stooges movie, but after seeing the previews I think they've done the impossible and made an actual 21st Century Three Stooges movie!!!!

Oh, I'm really excited for those too. I'm a big Joss Whedon fan, so I'm really curious to see what he's going to do with The Avengers.

And as far as Brave goes, I absolutely love Pixar, so this one is big on my list.

OMG, the trailer for that was so funny. I'm not usually a huge Mark Walhberg fan, but I actually think he's perfect for this.

Great picks, Al! I thought the trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman looked great. I'm much more excited to see that than Mirror, Mirror (looks too campy for my taste).

I didn't even know that the Star Trek sequel was coming next year. That's awesome!

This is an Australian horror flick that I actually watched online last year, but apparently it's getting a US theatrical release this summer. I can't stress enough how awesome this movie is. It's described as a cross between Pretty and Pink and Saw. I highly recommend this one!

I want to see Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, GI JOE: Retaliation, Prometheus, Resident Evil 5, Expendables 2, Ice Age 4, and the Hobbit. Everything else just looks lame.

Here are two that I can't wait for:

The Cabin in the Woods (Already getting great reviews and really cool hype.)

Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" (Which I hear isn't a continuation of the Alien story, but set in that universe)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHcHYisZFLU" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Cabin In The Woods looks like it's going to be a good one! I also want to see American Reunion for a good laugh. :lol:

American Reunion was a good laugh. I enjoyed it. See Stacy...we need a movie date.

I want to see Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, GI JOE: Retaliation, Prometheus, Resident Evil 5, Expendables 2, Ice Age 4, and the Hobbit. Everything else just looks lame.

We definitely need a movie date! :wink:

I really want to see Act like A Women, Think Like a Man and I can't think of the title but it's the new one with Zack Efron.

Little FYI: I just checked Rotten Tomatoes last night and the review score for The Avengers was at 97%! Overwhelmingly positive so far, I might just have to go see this opening day.

While I don't see how Joseph Gordon-Levitt could possibly grow up to be Bruce Willis, I think this trailer looks pretty awesome.

Can't think of the name just now, but the one with Channing Tautum and Rachel McAdams where she looses her memory and War Horse.

given that seeing a movie in a theatre I have to travel 2.5-3 hours by car, there's only a few that I actually go see
but I'm looking forward to

Spider-Man

Batman

but will probably only end up seeing just one.

The Great Gatsby starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Also, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I'm very intrigued to see how Emma Watson will pull off Sam's character....

Wow, the closest theatre is that far? I guess you would really have to want to see something to travel that far! I want to see both of those too, and it looks like the new Spiderman is getting great reviews.

people in my home town have been doing this for years... usually only for the big hyped blockbusters.
when I go to see a movie, I usually try and squeeze in two on the same night. it makes for an expensive day (gas dinner and movies) and late night getting home.

I just saw a trailer for the movie "Sinister" with Ethan Hawke. It currently has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the word is that it's absolutely terrifying. I love scary movies, so I can't wait for this one!

Haha, I don't think anyone but him could pull it off! My favorite movie EVER is Moulin Rouge, so I'm stoked! Plus, I love Fitzgerald.

Oh gosh, I want to see Spiderman, Ted, Moonrise Kingdom, The Dark Knight Rises, and some others. Thankfully, a few of these will be crossed off my list this week! :D

I saw Rock of Ages (three times!) and Brave recently, both were very good in my book!

Next on my list to see are Dark Knight Rises and the new Spider-Man.

Saw this poster that will be at Comic-Con for an upcoming 2013 film called Pacific Rim

Pacific Rim is an upcoming American science fiction film directed by Guillermo del Toro based on a screenplay by Travis Beacham. The film is set in a world where soldiers piloting giant robots battle against huge, alien creatures who have mysteriously risen five miles from beneath the ocean. The film will be an homage to Japanese giant monster films.- from Wikipedia

Holy crap, I so want that to be good too! This actually kind of sounds like the Lovecraft film he wanted to make based on the Cthulhu myth.

I WANT THIS TO BE AWESOME!!!!!!!

Holy crap, I so want that to be good too! This actually kind of sounds like the Lovecraft film he wanted to make based on the Cthulhu myth.

I am a HUGE Godzilla and Robotech fan so this is in my wheelhouse!!! And the fact that you posted about At the Mountains of Madness/ Cthulhu is sooooo HOT!!!!! :wink: To bad Prometheus may have killed it... or at least that was the word!

I'm really excited for The Hobbit...

Also, though unannounced, I can't wait for the 2nd installment of the Millennium trilogy...Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was AMAZING, and I'm hoping they announce The Girl who Played with Fire soon!

Did you hear that they're actually making a new Godzilla? I can't remember who's doing it, but it sounded awesome.

I did read an interview with Del Toro, where he said Prometheus ended his hopes for making At The Mountains of Madness. Shame, I would've loved to see it. I don't think there's been a good Lovecraft film, with the exception of In The Mouth of Madness.

Yeah, I guess we're done with the big releases for the year. I like horror films too though, and there's a lot of those coming up. The Apparition, Sinister, The Possession, Paranormal Activity 4...I'll probaby go see them all. :)

Avengers 2, Anchorman 2, Star Trek sequel, The Hobbit..

And I'd looooove to make a special film starring Mixie Rose. [smilie=hot over you.gif]

those horror films aren't really to my taste but I'd sit through them if it meant getting snuggly in the theatre with ya :wink:
