You are really such a wonderful and full of energy person Cami! I would get the Cheeseburger or Buffalo Chicken. I like the Kraft kits with a couple of sliced up hot dogs. Very good. Easy to make. 4 meals for about a dollar! I'm SOO hungry now. ![Happy [smilie=happy.gif]](./chat_old/images/smilies/Happy.gif)

camiparker wrote: Another that I love, love love is Sushi Samba Park, on 20th street and Park Avenue. (Not to be confused with Sushi Samba Seven... same concept, very different locations. Park is in Murray Hill and Seven is in the West Village). The food here is SoOoOoOo incredible! It's Brazilian/Japanese Fusion. They have sushi, that grilled Brazillian meat that they cook on a large spit, and everything in between. Everything here is sOoOoOoOo delicious, but like any true foodie I, of course, have some favorite menu items. They are:
-Green Bean Tempura: with black truffle ailoli The ailoli is TO DIE FOR. It's great on edemame and another of my favorites...
- poopoo: grilled spicy peppers, sea salt, lemon
Not too spicy, not too mild; these peppers are delicious!
-Kobe Gyoza: kabocha pureé and su-shoyu dipping sauce
I think this is what Heaven tastes like...
-Jumbo Shrimp: passion fruit, cucumber, cilantro
Simplicity can be so delicious...
- Coconut Rice: My most FAVORITE side order... a sticky rice that is boiled with coconut so that the coconut flavor and flakes infuse with the rich flavor and sticky texture of the Jasmine rice.
anticuchos Chicken and Smoked Teriyaki 9.00
Beef Tenderloin and Aji Panca 11.00 Eggplant and Mustard Miso 9.00 Sea Bass and Miso 14.00 Duck Breast and Sweet Ginger Soy 12.00 Sepia with Spicy Shichimi and Lemon 11.00 two skewers served with peruvian corn
I have 2 favorite deserts here, and which I choose really depends on my mood and my dining company. My favorites are
cassava carrot cake: brown butter ice cream, cinnamon cream, rainbow carrot chip, orange reduction
OR
valrhona chocolate fondue two guest minimum, price listed per guest 6 coconut marshmallows, japanese rice crispies, passionfruit cake, brigadeiro, fruta fresca, green tea sorvete
YUMYUMYUM!!!!
I have 2 favorite cocktails here, as well. Luckily one of my favorite past times is languishing over an hours long dinner with perfect company. There's always time for AT LEAST 2 cocktails. My favorites are...
-Caliente!: Leblon Cachaça, passionfruit and mango juices, aji panca simple syrup
or
-Lemon Samurai: Svedka Citron, apple liqueur, peach, guava
I am also always fasciated by menu sections that significantly exhibit the fusion aspect of the foods of the 2 cultures, such as:
Crispy Taquitos served with fresh lime (minimum 2 per order) > Yellowtail lemongrass, avocado, aji panca miso >Maine Lobster frisée, palmito, jalapeño dressing
or...
anticuchos Chicken and Smoked Teriyaki
Beef Tenderloin and Aji Panca Eggplant and Mustard Miso Sea Bass and Miso Duck Breast and Sweet Ginger Soy Sepia with Spicy Shichimi and Lemon *two skewers served with peruvian corn*
What do you think? Would your tongue be brave enough to experience new cultural depths?
Now, let's talk ambiance. There is a reason that this has been one of my top 3 "anytime place"'s since I first moved to NYC and a reason that I much prefer Sushi Samba Park (besides the fact that I lived around the corner from it for 2 years). As good as the food is, it most definitely is not the only thing that keeps people coming back. http://www.sushisamba.com/index.cfm/id/8/id2/21.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This restaurant is a chameleon. It can be whatever you want it to be. During the day it is the perfect place to take your mother to brunch, have a lunch date or even conduct a business lunch meeting. However, at night, there is a DJ and the lights get very low. You have to yell to be heard over the music, which some annoys some people, but I like it. I think it's fun. It feels like eating dinner in the middle of a night club. There outdoor seating is beautiful and their servers are prompt and attentive. This is one of my most favorite NYC restaurants and I make sure to eat there at least once every time I take a trip back to NYC (which is often) What do you guys think? Would you eat at Sushi Samba Park?
Probably not. I have no idea what 2/3 of the menu is? I never had sushi. I eat tuna out of the can. Does that count? I would love to watch you eat though. Maybe take home a kittybag for a little bengal cat that we love? ![Heart fill with love [smilie=heart fill with love.gif]](./chat_old/images/smilies/Heart fill with love.gif)

camiparker wrote: IT IS!!! I love to eat................ SOOOO much! LOL We are going back to NYC next week. I will definitely hit up Sarita's and Sushi Samba. Also, can't forget Daddy's MOST favorite NYC eatery... Original Ray's Pizza!!!! An NYC staple, of course!

I'm not too Bougie, see? Yes, I love nice things and fancy places, but I also love In-N-Out burger, Gray's Papaya Hot Dogs, Taco Bell, Popeye's Chicken AND Ray's Pizza!!! YUM! Have you guys ever eaten NYC pizza? Can you tell a difference? I DEFINITELY can. They say it's something in the water that makes the crust so delicious. There is a place in L.A. (I forget now what it's called) that is NY Style Pizza and they actually have water shipped in from New York to bake their pizza crusts for the most authentic flavor. It's not quite as good, but pretty close! I love Ray's! That pizza was to-die-for! So yummmm-o!

That looks awful but I would give it a try. I didn't know the chicken and waffles was real waffles with syrup. I thought it was some dinner waffle with gravy. Hmm...that sounds good... You looked great eating it though. ![Heart fill with love [smilie=heart fill with love.gif]](./chat_old/images/smilies/Heart fill with love.gif)
