I read somewhere recently a thing i knew to be intuitively true: that paying attention to things like work, hobbies, sports, driving, shopping
are all very different from paying attention to a landscape, or looking at the ocean.
When gazing at a natural scene, our brains are not as busy analyzing and predicting events. It's a comparatively restful mind state that is a great recharger and interval between mentally taxing jobs.
